Help us fight disinformation

There are differences between misinformation and disinformation. When any government uses it's own sources to distort truth, that is misinformation. When the government uses private sources such as foreign news portals to either distort or fabricate truth, that becomes disinformation. As people often mistrust government sources, it is the disinformation which becomes more effective way to distort/fabricate truth. These are all tools of Psychological warfare at the end of the day.
In a nutshell, an ordinary reader isn't simply capable of distinguish facts from sophsticated disinformation/misinformation campaign unless that reader r has good analytical mind with intensive training in psychological warfare.

I would love to debunk their official sources but it becomes very tedious when Indians bring articles from opIndia / Swarajya / Hindustan Times that spread fake news. Even Wikipedia has listed these sources as fake news peddlers.

I agree with moderator here...If there is a rule for official sources, then you should ban all the newspapers who publish news with source which is anonymous. Rather allow the news which is from official sources of respective govt authorities medium.

There is also showing of selective information , need a term for that. I have noticed Hindjew media use very common techniques for propagating their view point. They always :-
1. Leave out key facts to fit their narratives
2. Water down serious news as per their interest
3. Provide biased reports quoting one side more than another
4. Use positive words for one preferred side and negative words for the other
5. Skew more quantity of reports in favour of another side/country etc
6. Put emphasis on specific people favoured by them
7. propagate Brainwashing repetition of news over and over again
8. propagate racist news and anti-Islamic views
9. pull out citizens to voice opinions who reflect their agendas

The 20th century has brought the access of technology in the hand of common man like never before. Hence, people from any class, race or faith are able to use technology for communication, social interaction and trade.
Unfortunately, in past 15 years the websites meant for bringing people closer or were simply meant for fun have taken the terrible route. Social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter or Reddit are becoming not just a platform for socializing and business but also are becoming source of information.
Now, out of those information which one is correct and which one is incorrect is really difficult for a layman to understand. Mis-information is the cause of growing seeds of misunderstanding, extremism, accident and most importantly false concept of dominance of one nation against the other.
We request you for not to become a part of mis-information. Kindly, before posting any news make sure that news source is taken from:

• Official news sources
• Official government sources
• Official announcement made by companies from their respective handle.
• Authentic research journals
• Official databases

In case if any of you receive any video on whatsapp or any other sources, try to analyze and confirm those video first. We can save lots of lives if play our part well by spreading proper information and debunking misinformation and specially yellow journalism.

At this point, one should follow news release by someone who has:

• Official status.
• Good reputation
• Internationally recognized
• Considered to be neutral source.
• Is known to be reliable.

Let us be honest with ourselves & start to follow right resources of our respective countries.

I would also address one very important malinformation campaign of 5th gen warfare going on against Pakistan. It is when sectarian extremists no matter from which sect picking nonsense propaganda tweets from and publicizing them not only here but on whatsapp and many other places.

We cannot hide from this bitter reality. We must fight this reality before pakistan is converted into Lebanon.
