Anyone played Project IGI?

A must-pirate (sorry, I mean buy legally!) for those who are fans of tactical shooters. Also has a sequel.

hell no. Ghost warrior is one of the worst games i have played. the graphics are good, but thats about all that you can say in its praise. its buggy, without a story and has a very unenjoyable gameplay

for those suggesting games like AoE3 and Red Alert, they are a very different genre than the one the OP is looking for. anyways if u have to mention such games dont forget Company of Heroes. by far the best RTS out there, far better than AOE3 or Red Alert 3

yeah, I know, I was just getting some conversation going...

I played a lot of RTS before but now I only play fighter sims...

Shooters were never my thing

Its not that bad,definitely not the worst, the physx may not be that good, but i liked the stealth operations. AI intelligence could have been better but its a one time play.

It's hardcore simulation, only fighter aces can handle it.

Well then I definitely won't be able to handle it. The closest I've come is F-16 MRF made in 1998 by novalogic... I still play it. Its not 'unrealistic', but quite simple- however I have a lot of trouble even dodging missiles!

But I play arcade fighter games such as HAWX- not technical (your plane carries 100+ missiles), has a bit physics (though not too much- there's a way where you can fly backwards if you stall correctly!), has flying, but they conventionally erase the 'simulation' part so it appeals to broader audiences.

You must know a lot about flying jets if you can handle simulation? Out of curiosity, are you of air force background?

flight sims are pretty much dead nowadays. they dont get the massive funding or market that the other game titles today enjoy. i have not played too many of them myself but even the developers agree that flight sims are a dying breed. the few sims that still come out are pretty bad compared to the quality one enjoys in other genres.

ooh man, project IGI was the best shooter game, very good story and very good sound and bg music, very scary, are new IGIs coming?? the old versions maybe shiity as compared to the graphics of today

Well, there was IGI 2 but that was the end of it... no more

I distributed the game to all my classmates and we used to play LAN sometimes at lunch (we're allowed to bring laptops).

Yeah, graphics were terrible, but gameplay was superb. You don't see games like this nowadays.

I don't play games much anymore, dropped everything except HAWX.

Ah, I see- the real thing is the real thing though!

I was going to join airforce but my mother didn't want it and I guess I realised airforce wasn't best choice for me anyway.

Though I still take interest in military jets as a hobby.
