After death our concious is unable to perceive time and space- something that happens to us during our dreams.

What sort of energy doth continue this consciousness after its Earthly vessel decays into dust? Does our consciousness take the form of energy and traverse the cosmos, when its source of energy in our mind is lost as food is no longer consumed?
