Dear author: Name any sepah-salar of Pakistan who do think is/was good?

Keeping in the mind the attempts to destroy Pakistan from inside and outside, any sepah-salar who complete his tenure and kept Pakistan in one piece is more than enough.

.
In terms of intellect Kayani was very highly rated by those who know him, it's just that during his second tenure luck was not on his side, in all honesty if Raheel was chief would he have prevented Salala or Abbottabad op, I highly doubt so.Kudos bro

Bro ultimately when their is success or failure it all leads to the top.Kudos

. .
General Kiyani was perhaps the worst Army chief due to his performance in his second tenure. General Bajwa is perhaps the second worst after General Kiyani.

People who are critisizing Gen kayani must also keep in mind the environment in which Gen kayani had to work. He took the command in difficult times. He restored the army moral after a long military rule , worked with corrupt PPP govt likes of rehman Malik & zardari, successful swat operation and also ensure the democratic setup in the country. As per operation in NW, I think he was looking for the right moment which off course never come in his tenure as two main party PML-N and PTI were opposing the operation and going without political consensus into the operation would have been terrible both for institution and for country also as nation was divided also. I really believe that General kiyani did well and helped the democratic setup to take its roots, passed the transition to the next govt and left a better and favourable environment for both the govt and for next COAS to take big steps. General Raheel on the other hand inherited the favourable situation likes, A strong political govt, political and national consensus on NWO which was missing during kiyani time. Both General Kiyani and Raheel did well to serve this nation as per their capacity and acted professionally in their own environment.

He should not have taken a three year extension - that was WRONG.

Actually his later three years are the bad one, first three were good. His ability to make concrete decisions took a nose dive in later three years and that is where his undoing happened.

To work in a country where all of northern lands were occupied by TTP, who held strategic peaks, wherein they had bunkers, had more $billions avaiable than army budget.
At the same time president of Pakistan was Asif Ali Zardari, foreign office, interior ministry, navy, airforce... all were under occupation of RAW stooges.
He had to resist popular politicians to progress in his anti terror operations, e.g. PTI, MQM.

Ashfaq Pervez Keyani AKA Almas Bobby as he was called by the junior staff in private meetings.
That's may be because army was unable to reply to the allegations of media and PTI.
Army progressed and ISPR started to held official press briefing, venting over pressure of frustration.

No.6 - He was choice of Benazir for Army Chief (Musharraf said No Comments, when that question was asked in an interview.)
No.7 - drafter of NRO
No.8 - Raymond Davis case ugly proceedings

and I am always saying, wait of for some American to write book about Abbotabad operation. Raymond Davis book is already out, declaring dirty fishes in his escape.

How could Kamaran Kayani get even a minor contract in DHA, if his bro wasn't COAS ?
That shows partnership, not just looking other way.
Raymond's book doesn't tell anything new. New York Times leaked the 'dirty details' in 2003: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/04/14/magazine/raymond-davis-pakistan.html

And if you are craving all the eye-popping dirty details about the Abbottabad incident, just consult Abbottabad Commission Report. Link: http://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/spotlight/binladenfiles/2013/07/201378143927822246.html

The amount of dirty details you will find in the Pakistani report, trumps even some works of fiction. Incredibly professional, accurate and to the point nonetheless.

As for the book about the operation (no politics), check out No Easy Day. Link: https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/no-easy-day-mark-owen/1112629123

Operation Neptune Spear was a strictly American military operation with two-pronged objectives. First, to neutralize Osama Bin Laden. Second, to test Pakistani defenses in the process. Very clever of them.

Pakistani army is a professional institution and reasonably equipped for regional threats. However, if you think that it is equipped to challenge a foe like the US army, you are sadly mistaken. Much of the world is not, I'm afraid. Disparity is simply too vast to overcome.

You mean what PAF did was done on its own decision ? Not under COAS order or at least with his green ligh ?
It means appointments of both... naval chief and air-force chief by Zardari were suspicious.

PAF is not under command coas but the president of pakistan.

Extension in COAS term is wrong anyway and both General Kakkar and RS were fortunate to keep himself away from this blunder.

.
Gen. Kayani was completely useless & had done nothing good for Pakistan. Also lets not forget there were three mutiny attempts against him as whole army was very disturb because of his ignorance & allowing gandari party to harm Pakistan in all front.

You haven't read his book that's why you are comparing it with nytimes

A general can't get corporate farming land in Australia, even with his combined salary, that's enough said.
Rest, as I mentioned an American would write a book about Abbattabad, indicating who made how much money.

Pakistani army is a professional institution
Subject is General Kayani
