Bangladesh has two special days to celebrate birth of the country. Bangladesh declared her independence on 26th March 1971 after Pakistani armed forces massacred and killed thousands of common people, students, teachers at midnight of 25th March during 'operation searchlight'. Bangladesh was born on 26th March. It was East Pakistan before. So its called 'Independence Day'.

16th December is victory day when Pakistan surrendered to Indian and Bangladeshi joint forces. India also observes the day as victory day as it was the biggest military victory of India against Pakistan which led the creation of an independent country, Bangladesh.

Bangladesh is extremely fertile land. Its Ganges green delta. Green signifies the fertile green land of the country.

Red signifies blood of martyrs but during liberation war the red signified the rising sun. After liberation war the red carried two meanings. One: Rising sun, second: blood of martyrs.

I am big fan of Bangladesh and always see them as muslims brothers.. But don't you think that this celebration will create division among us..After all it was more conspiracy by India against Islamic nation..

Its sad that both countries have different version of Bangladesh liberation war. For India and perhaps for most of the world it was Indo-Pak war but for Bangladesh its Pakistan-Bangladesh war.

do remember that the APS kids in Peshawer that were massacred on 16 Dec-14 had no hand or bear no blame for all the misgivings you guys have against Pakistanis.

Meanwhile on victory day we Pakistanis should look back and consider what exactly went wrong and how we west Pakistanis could commit such an evil on our east Pakistani brothers, people we were sworn to defend with our lives. It proves that ethnic politics which divided Pakistan lives on in JSQM, MQM, ANP BSO-A. Unfortunate but we with our policies threw half the country away.
