Khuda Karay Ke Meri Arz-e-Pak Per Utray
Wo Fasl-e-Gul Jisay Andesha-e-Zawaal Na Ho

Yahan Jo Phool Khilay, Khila Rahay Sadi'on
Yahan Khizaan Ko Guzarnay Ki Bhi Majaal Na Ho

Yahan Jo Sabza Ugay, Hamesha Sabz Rahay
Aur Aisa Sabz Ke Jis Ki Koi Misaal Na Ho

Khuda Karay Ke Na Kham Ho Sir-e-Waqar-e-Watan
Aur Is Ke Husn Ko Tashweesh-e-Mah-o-Saal Na Ho

Her Aik Fard Ho, Tahzeeb-o-Fun Ka Oaj-e-Kamaal
Koi Malool Na Ho, Koi Khasta Haal Na Ho

Khuda Karay Ke Meray Aik Bhi Hum'Watan Ke Leay
Hayaat Jurm Na Ho, Zindagi Wabaal Na Ho

Khuda Karay Ke Meri Arz-e-Pak Per Utray
Wo Fasl-e-Gul Jisay Andesha-e-Zawaal Na Ho

Nation enthusiastic to celebrate Pakistan Day

The Pakistan Day, 23rd March, is being celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervour across the country today. On this day in 1940 the Pakistan Resolution was adopted at a mammoth public meeting organised by Pakistan Muslim League under the chairmanship of Quaid-i-Azam at Minar-i-Pakistan, then Minto Park.
Seven years after the adoption of this resolution, in which separate homeland was demanded for the Muslims of the Sub-Continent, Pakistan came into being on August 14, 1947.
The Day will start with 31-gun salute at the Federal Capital while 21-gun salute at all the four Provincial Capitals to mark the day.
While, every year on 23rd March, Pakistanis hold special prayers for the solidarity and integrity of the country and different programmes are held to commemorate the most outstanding day in the history of Muslims of the Sub-Continent.
Besides this, special functions start with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran as well as debates, essay competitions are also organized across the country every year.
Various political, cultural, academic, social and non-governmental organizations organize special programmes across the country to mark the day.
Special transmissions will be the main feature of the day as the public and private radio and television channels broadcast and telecast special programmes on the day wherein well-known workers of Tehrik-i-Pakistan recall the significant features of the Pakistan movement, while the newspapers also publish supplements to honour the day.
The events, which used to be arranged on the day, also included rallies and exhibition of documentary films for school children and the public.
Award giving ceremonies to people of different walks of life for distinctions in their respective fields will be held at the President House in which Sitara-e-Imtiaz, President’s Award for Pride of Performance and Tamgha-e-Imtiaz will be bestowed to the selected citizens.

The resolution

While approving and endorsing the action taken by the Council and the Working Committee of the All-India Muslim League, as indicated in their resolutions dated the 27th of August, 17th & 18th September and 22nd of October, 1939, and 3rd of February, 1940 on the constitutional issue, this Session of the All-India Muslim League emphatically reiterates that the scheme of federation embodied in the Government of India Act 1935, is totally unsuited to, and unworkable in the peculiar conditions of this country and is altogether unacceptable to Muslim India.

It further records its emphatic view that while the declaration dated the 18th of October, 1939 made by the Viceroy on behalf of His Majesty’s Government is reassuring in so far as it declares that the policy and plan on which the Government of India Act, 1935, is based will be reconsidered in consultation with various parties, interests and communities in India, Muslims in India will not be satisfied unless the whole constitutional plan is reconsidered de novo and that no revised plan would be acceptable to Muslims unless it is framed with their approval and consent.

Resolved that it is the considered view of this Session of the All-India Muslim League that no constitutional plan would be workable in this country or acceptable to the Muslims unless it is designed on the following basic principles, viz., that geographically contiguous units’ are demarcated into regions which should be constituted, with such territorial readjustments as may be necessary that the areas in which the Muslims are numerically in a majority as in the North Western and Eastern Zones of (British) India should be grouped to constitute “independent States” in which the constituent units should be autonomous and sovereign.

That adequate, effective and mandatory safeguards should be specifically provided in the constitution for minorities in these units in the regions for the protection of their religious, cultural, economic, political, administrative and other rights and interests in consultations with them and in other parts of (British) India where the Mussalmans (Muslims) are in a majority adequate, effective and mandatory safeguards shall be specifically provided in constitution for them and other minorities for the protection of their religious, cultural, economic, political, administrative and other rights and interests in consultation with them.

This session further authorises the Working Committee to frame a scheme of constitution in accordance with these basic principles, providing for the assumption finally by the respective regions of all powers such as defense, external affairs, communications, customs and such other matters as may be necessary.

.
It was 70 years ago to the day when Mussalmans from
Sarhad,Baluchistan,Sindh ,Punjab,UP, Bengal and abroad gathered at
Lahore to swear their allegiance to Muhammad Ali Jinnah and resolved
with one voice that no other solution will be acceptable to them
except a separate Homeland for Muslims of India,They came from all
walks of life.Whosoever and however small means they had, some even
borrowed ticket fare and slept on the green grass of the Manto Park
and performed 'wadhu' and prayed in the adjoing Great Mosque :Badshahi Mosque built by no other than Mughal Emperor Shahjahan.

If u see the footage taken at that time, You can read one thing ,they were united and determined. One after another we have lost all these dedicated founders of Pakistan. What have we done to their legacy,it is another story to to be told at some other juncture.

Let us all resolve toady once again that sacrifices made by our founding fathers and those who laid down their lives form 1940 to 1947 in the struggle called'Jangey Azaadi' will not be forgotten .We will honour their great effort and continue their struggle and make Pakistan, what they so desired,a strong and vibrant Pakistan .We shall endeavour to make it no matter what is the cost.

"Aapni mehfal kay shams-o-qamar they ghay hum,tu salamt rahay,tu
salamat rahay,Pakistan tu slamat rahay."

The funny thing is people term is as Pakistan resolution. It is not Pakistan day in the sense that this is the day we decided there would be a Pakistan (that was much later around 1945 or 1946. This is the day where we declared that we're freakin pissed off by the lack of autonomy within our provinces.

The whole resolution doesn't even mention the word Pakistan or that we want any sort of Azaadi. Remember Jinnah was the best spokesperson for the Hindu-Muslim unity till the very end, till - Nehru betrayed him at the last minute by nullifying the autonomy plan.

This is the Pakistan day in the sense that it demonstrated the power and unity of the Muslims of India which contributed in a large way towards the ultimate independence of Pakistan.
