I think this will be for the networking systems, Gripen's biggest strength,

If it happened which I doubt, one more SAAB advert I'm afraid, it could
explain the mysterious other MII line in Parrikar's comments a while back.
And that would be better for India than replacing Tejas with Gripen for sure.

Here is why I think it's a fluke however. IF HAL as per the article is the one
calling SAAB in, it's a blame, un désaveu, on/of DRDO!
- "We could produce a better fighter than the crap ^ they designed. Let's ask the Swedes!"

And if that is true then it is high time that the GoI at its core reviews every ...
each and every PSU involved in mil aerospace and identifies all problems!

And if that happened, HAL might find the scrutiny it brought on unwelcome?

The part of network-centric designs tech mentioned by Guynextdoor, alone,
as in getting help on this only, makes sense though. Sweden had its own protocol
product equivalent to MIDS_LV that it made NATO-interoperable later.
They are certainly no slouch on that domain.

*Pulling the sombrero back over his eyes* -Back to napping, gringos! Tay.

Do you even know what Saab does? Or cooking up verbal dhiorreha is a special give for you?

Why is dassult not pitching in to the LCA mk2, it has the potential to be a mini rafale with some tlc.

I have read that IAF is keen on the networking capabilities seen in Saab Gripen and that it's being raised as a key development requirement from them. I think this must be a step in that direction.

Dassault may be involved with naval version , with undercarriage etc..

If it looks, acts and smells like paid news then........

Not a shred of actual information given, what areas is HAL looking for SAAB's help in?

At a time when SAAB is pitching to make their single engined light fighter jet in India (the Gripen) this news mysteriously comes over the airwaves, hmmm funny that. I'm still yet to be given a suitable explanation why SAAB would be willing to help the LCA project that effectively kills off their hopes of selling the Gripen to India.

This is might just be how SAAB is inticing the MoD with their rather worthless offer for the Gripen in Indian service and think this "sweetner" will be well received so now this narrative is being spun by the press for "questionable" motives shall we say? Ah maybe this is just too much tin foil hat thinking, but then who was the MMRCA bidder who has consistently spent the most on "marketing" in India over the past 5 years pushing their product that was actually eliminated by the IAF? Hmmm......

I must to some extent since I mentioned their TIDLS which, if you missed it,
explains your scatological remark ... despite the fact that I was backing your post #3 idea.
Not everything you don't understand is caca, man!

Dassault has no interest in tackling Mk2 and it is just as good for India.

First Dassault will have a whole lot on its plate if the add. deals happen.
Cultural differences and also business culture have to merge and that's
an adventure in and of itself. It pays on the long term to do it well.
Engines through Safran, various Thalès JVs, for future needs as AMCA
and so on, no problem. Working backward in tech time is not a habit of
the House.

For India, the interest in even keener. After being fooled long enough by
Russia, Bharat should not infeudate itself to France. Strategic partner, fine!
That means you get to collaborate on many levels, programs and projects.
It should not mean all future IAF tools to have the French touch and cost.
You get a plane out of three! You take nuke counselling and cooperation
as in LT with EPR but you don't hand the keys of your ICBMs. And so on!

Play it safe and diversify your sourcing?

If it looks, acts and smells like paid news then........

What I wuz trying to say originally!

And great evening all, Tay.
