After going to the gym 6 months I have noticed certain things that D-bags do that are considered poor etiquette. If anyone has more to add please do.

Here is what annoys me:

The people that grab (or hog) a set of dumbbells and barbells at the same time. Esspecially annoying when you want to use a barbell, and there is only one in the entire gym that is an 'easy bar' in that weight. You look over and the d-bag is not even using it. Use a weight then when your done put it back so others can use it A-hole.

The people that take weights from one end of the gym to the other and then never bother putting the weight back. so not only can other people not use the weight because someone took it but the weight is not being used at all. These people deserve to be punched....in the neck....hard.

The people (d-bags) that come in with an entire entourage. These people are esspecially annoying. 90% of the time they don't even work out, they just crowed around and get in everyone's way. The gym is not social hour A-holes, get the hell out of my way. No one cares about your spray on tan.

This is similar to the above example and can get clean clumped in the same category, but people who come in, in groups and hog the same machine. For instance one person does an exercise and after he is done his friend or friends emmediately use the machine, and the cycle repeats. No one else can use the machine! And it makes no sense from a workout perspective because you would be better of doing another exercise routine instead of scratching your *** and watching someone else work out.

People that try to claim equipment as if it's their own personal property by putting towels and water bottles on equipment that they are not using. Do everyone a favor and move your shit.

The people that scream very LOUD every time they lift a weight. This is not necessary and you look like a douche. I can understand letting out a quiet eerrrrr on the last set but anyone who scream out loud so everyone in the gym can hear them is just a douche.

People that throw and bang weight. This is similar to the above example, the person tries to be macho and tough looking so they feel they need to slam weights and often scream as if they have something shoved up their butts. These are the people responsible for broken equipment.

You should stick to jogging in parks ............... gym is no place for a nice gentleman like you.

. . .
If that is what you seek then you will fail miserably. Better not waste time in gym and get the girl anyway.

Deep down inside wether they admit to it or not, one of the driving forces that people go to the gym to put on muscle is to look good for the opposite sex.

That is part of it for me but I also do it because I enjoy seeing my hard work pay off, there is also health benefits.

I have been very skinny in the past and at one point pretty muscular. It's sad and unfair but I was getting a lot of girls telling me I was sexy or attractive or just flirting with me. Something that I never had when I was skinny.

And before I get the, "girls should like you for who you are" ask yourself are you more attractive to a girl that is over weight or too skinny or a girl that takes care of herself? Be honestly.

Best way to do gym is make your own gym in the basement.

That's when people are doing alternate sets, say hammer curls and ez curls, I do it as well. You can just go talk to the person and do alternate sets with that guy! Its not that hard.

Don't know never did it for girls and by the way they never understood anyways, may be now they understand or consider it sexy in my youth they thought "oh look how he has deformed his body" ............. and the only thing that kept me going to gym was focus and peace of mind.

Or you can do hammer curls, and when you're finished put the weights back so someone else can use them and then you can use the easy bar for regular bicep curls, ect.

You don't need to hog wights to do drop sets. If someone else is using the weight you want to use then do another exercise. I do many different types of exercises for each muscle. If someone is using a particular weight I want to use then I will do another exercise for that body part, either way I will usually get that exercise in, just in a different order.

I don't feel I need to ask someone if I can use a weight that is not being used when I pay for a membership. When there is 2 or 3 guys and they have 4-9 sets of weights between them, that is total BS period. No excuses.

There is a thing called alternate sets.

One set hammer, one set Ez curl, one set hammer curl, one set ez curl and so on. Each set takes about 2 mins, and u rest for a minute or two between sets. You can't expect people to run back to the weight rack after each set :undecided:

I know, it's exhausting to walk 4 steps from the barbell rack to the bumbell rack.

I also don't understand the entire notion of 1 set hammer curl and one set ez cur. Why don't just focus 2 or 3 consecutive sets with hammer curls and then do X amount of sets for another exercise? But you can do whatever you like, I'm just stating what many people find annoying, inconvenient and inconsiderate.

If I gym has very few people then I can understand if someone wants to take 2 weight if they want to do a quick drop set but when it's busy and you got multiple hogers, it's no fun.

Different things work for different people, some do straight sets, some do alternate.

Its not just about walking "4 steps" most gyms are bigger than that anyways, its also about the rhythm. Say I go and put the Ez curl back on the rack between sets, and in the mean time some other guy decides to use it, there goes the rhythm, their goes the pump.

You want the other guy to adjust, but u don't want to adjust urself? :undecided: Everyone pays for the membership, just like you want the equipment to be free for u all the time, so does the other guy, no one owns the equipment. Best option as I said, is to talk to the person holding/using the equipment, and work out together!

That is the very reason I'd like to go gym when very few people are available there (odd timings). Plus I hate sweaty guys, once they are doing preacher curl the leather is all soaked with sweat ewww. :frown:
