The tensions between Auditor General Pakistan and the Government have intensified. Government has moved a summery of removal of AudGP to President's office. PM has approved the summery moved by Controller of General Accounts seeking removal of Accountant General Pakistan. However, the AcGP has refused to relieve his charge without the approval of AudGP Rana Buland Iqbal. The tensions between AudGP and Min of Finance have intensified after AudGP approached the court against Government transferring his powers to Controler of General Accounts. However, AcGP has refused to work under CoGA and awaits the orders from AudGP. The president can forbid him from holding office by a presidential order. Once removed from his office, his impeachment can be started by Supreme Judicial Council. The Public accounts committee has already gathered evidences to move a reference against him in Supreme Judicial Council. Finance Minister Dar has already asked chairman Public Accounts committee Khusheed Shah to move the reference as soon as possible.

Actually before the removal of NTDC chairman, there were also severe allegations on him for corruption. He and his team were selling the electricity to industrialist sites for money off the books. Later the NADRA chairman also found involved in issuing fake ID cards and concealing his dual nationality. Rana sahib has a history of various allegations on him, his appointment is considered one of many controversial ones made in PPP's tenure.
