Design and development of three stage 5:1 pressure ratio all Blisk fan for 75/110 kN thrust class engine.

Mass flow rate 85-87 kg/s

Pressure Ratio 4.8-5.0

Isentropic efficiency 83-84%

5% growth potential should be available. GTRE would like to participate in the design process. The mode of participation will be deliberated later.

Selection of material will dictate maximum rotational speed.

Time frame for the above activities up to component level aerodynamic testing, aeromechanical testing for generating performance map, structural testing relating to life and safety is approximately five years (60 months). It also includes manufacture of five sets of hardware for testing and evaluation of above tests.

The scope of work includes Design of Fan, CAD/CAE Simulations & Analysis, Prototype Development, Performance & Functional Testing and Proving of the Fan. This includes certification level tests as per MIL 5007-E .Further, it also includes transfer of production technology to GTRE which is inclusive of setting up of infrastructure, training and assistance in manufacturing of blisks.

hmm..

the specs match P&W TF30 Engine that of F-14...
Also 3 stage compressor fans...

SC has been developed but its still up-to lab scale only. Hope they will transfer it to production level.

That is true. DMRL has successfully developed SC blades, but its is facing challenges in large scale production. Tender talks about TOT. The question here is can that TOT be used for independently designing future engines by GTRE. I ask this question because we got TOT for SU30 MKI engines, still cannot use that for Kaveri.

It will depend if they will be allowed to use or will they be able to use. We already developed it in the labs and then we are successfully running MKI lines but I guess we are still lacking the infrastructure to produce the SC blades at our own at industrial scale. May be its not only about the tech rather supporting conditions are also equally important. As the design of this engine will be new so I hope they will surely get mush more thrust than Kaveri and for SC in production scale, we have to wait. May be MMRCA deal would be helpful.

I wonder who will be ready to transfer blisk and SC blades technology. khud ke pet pe laat kaun marega bhai?

what specs? only thrust is given.
can TOT from al-31 SC blades can be used to build another engine.?

There is never TOT of Al31 from Russia. Building SC blade and brisk need huge and comprehensive industrial base including metallurgy and material.
Reverse engineer is very complicated far beyond your imagination.

DMRL & Midhani group has successfully developed SCB superalloy in 2011.Building a SCB blade is not a problem, but to successfully mass produce is the key challenge.

Indeed,Reverse engineer is very complicated,But masters of reverse engineering are also finding difficult to successfully mass produce final production version of engine.

I don't think so, else GTRE wouldn't have gone for this tender.

open you eyes, HAL makes AL31FP engines in India http://hal-india.com/EngineKoraput/products.asp

DRDO DMRL has also produces SC blades in house, but the challenge is technology for mass production. Here is example of different blades produced so far by DMRL
