Its little bit exaggeration. I would say go and check all those who got banned uptill now you will see many wrongs if neutrally you examine

We have made a few changes to the promotions criteria

Fresh members: All New registrations
Full Members: 100 posts, (unspecified) number of days registered
Senior Members: 2000 posts, (unspecified) number of days registered
Elite Members: 10000 posts, (unspecified) number of days registered

We have not revealed the number of days required to deter the drive for quantity over quality.

Promotions have been made harder as seniority is a big factor taken into consideration before administrative actions are employed upon people.

Hence newer members will have to work harder, will have to show that they are quality material, they are not here to flame and troll or any other sort of point scoring, before they survive onto the next rounds. Of course, no one is immune from the really bad booboos no matter who they are.

10K to b an elite member......sounds very unrealistic....5K wld be better

Why so much fuzz on posts. look at me , i am a senior member and even have elites under me in post count.. infact a majority of them..

I would second 'marcos98' sugguestion in making one more group between them.
And sorry to say but the new elite member colour isn't attractive ..but as long as i am not elite..i don't have to do anything with them

So, I am just 7100 Posts short of next promotion..It will take me atleast 2 years to get there..Lets see if the rules are changed and time be given importance over post count..

Really really good decision but 10,000 looks mission impossible for anyone to strive for it! I think 7,000 to 8,000 could be a good option!

Good decision,
I think there should be some "reputation points system", and the reputation can be only added by the Management, Think Tanks, Military Professionals, Moderators to the posters who post quality posts. It could be a meter or something.

This way lot of us and new members trying to educate themselves or seeking credible information could know whose posts to look for or give importance to.

The more reputation points could mean more knowledgeable individual.
frankly the Thanks system is of no use, it just shows the popular guys/gals.

P.S one question, what about paid elite membership?

There should be a Premium Members status (= 5000 posts) if Elite Members = 10,000 posts. Otherwise members won't be inspired. And there can be a special promotion option on the basis of opinions by Admins/vote.
