In northern Greece a hunting bomber of the Hellenic Air Force (EPA) of type F-16C (Block 50) crashed today near the town of Volos.

The machine started this morning for a low-level exercise from Air Force base at Nea Aghialos .
When the accident occured, there was a bird entering the turbine of the single-engine machine which led to the crash.

The pilot could be saved by ejection seat and was flown by helicopter to a nearby hospital .
