I agree. You and @Foinikas are reasonable people. I cannot expect Greece and China to agree in all things, but some minimum level of respect is needed.

People like @Apollon are very problematic. I don't care about what he says about China too much. He calls China fascist? Whatever, China's position is self evident, he can't threaten us.

But he also promotes killing refugees as you see here. China isn't threatened by this, but refugees can't defend themselves.

No, the general image of China is very high in Greece.
Because of history and because the chinese people who come here are all classy and elite. (tourists in islands and businessmen in Athens)

I know that the same stands for Greece in China since i visited for tourism Beijing, Xian, Guilin and Sanghai and when i told that i am from Greece they were impressed and respected me.

There are some ultra-right people that they hate Greek communists because of the Greek civil war. So in their mind China is linked with communism and for this reason they may dislike china only because of their hatred for greek communists.

i have been in China as i told you and apart from access to Google and Facebook i felt 100% free and like be in Europe. (even the access to google with a vpn was permitted ;-) )

Look,we might disagree on the Taiwan thing,but Greece has had traditionally a very high respect and big love for China. It's true.
Most of us are against Maoism,but we like Chinese history and respect China as one of the oldest and most sophisticated civilizations.
I don't know who are these "fascist" and "xenophobic" forces you are talking about. It's like @armandinho said in his post above.
We just don't want the sausage fest coming from the Middle-East,Africa and Afghanistan,Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Because trust me,the majority are single men. And many of them end up doing crimes here. Some have even comitted crimes here,went to Austria,Germany or Netherlands and continued there too.

I know when i applied for my chinese visa the only problem was that i had visited Turkey in my passport and just asked me some further questions. Later told me that it was because the Uyghur issue.

Neither simple Turkish people are hated in Greece. (ok except for 1-2% ultra rights).
The dislike is for Erdogan the nationalist Turks and their bully oriented history towards other people. If someone comes in Athens and say i am Turkish the average Greek will be happy to talk to him.

We used to hate Albanians in 90s and 00s because when they first came they were crime orientated, but now even this has passed since the majority of them was adapted and culturally Hellenized.
