Govt plans to cut PSDP by Rs380bln, shelve 400 unapproved schemes

PSDP is kept for political corruption... none if these projects ever get off the drawing board
.. cut it down to 100 billion and safe 1000 billion

I hope these are short term ventures to avoid a larger imf package, in the longer run the govt needs to substantially widen the tax net and fecilitate exports by reducing prices for power for the industrial sector and subsidizing agricultural to convert it into a modern agri model, marxist ideologies never suited us.

I read somewhere in the last 5 years Sindh government has supposedly spent Rs. 1000 billion in Sindh for development. Can anybody tell me where do I go and find this "development" ?

This PSDP budgets are all siphoned off by politicians to build wealth abroad.

Gas companies are almost bankcrupt, there are 50 billion rupees of gas theft every year. Gas companies wanted 86% increase for them not to go default. I don't see them doing well

I don't know how austerity measures of infrastructure project helps any country and cutting the budget by that much is worrying . It stunts the growth. Rationalize the budget, rather than cutting the budget by so much.
Don't match apple with oranges ... the issue of Gas companies is entirely different ... Gas companies are at default due to non-increase in prices ... This will not change even in the private sector ... For example, Why you allowed higher electricity rates to KESC? Did they stop theft? Current gov is doing the right thing i.e. increasing the prices ... Theft is an entirely different issue and will remain the same irrespective of private sector or public sector as theft is to be tackled through police and judiciary, not by private companies ...

Do you think by privatization, gas companies will fight against thousand of a person stealing gas ? Stop stealing will still remain government initiative.

The reason of reducing PSDP is to filter productive projects from non-productive. I am sure projects like, school, colleges, mega roads and infrastructure will not be stopped but other projects that can be delayed will be stopped. You can put it like, if one of your child is diagnosed cancer and you are short of money for his medicine you will send your wife to beauty parlor, no matter if appointment is there and you already have committed to her or even if you have paid 10% advance. You will prefer to save 90% of the remaining amount and direct it towards medicine of your child ...

Imran Khan will loose popularity if he wants to look in to economy with clinical glass .He need to rearrange the dispersed pawns before taking drastic steps .

Your words would hold any weight if you had ever said anything positive about pti or if you had ever criticized pmln. So your words means quite little

You need to give some time to IK as the economy he has got is in total mess. Although it looks PTI did not do its homework properly. PTI n the economic advisory council should study other successful economic model e.g. Turkey, Malaysia, Vietnam etc. to take various sectors of economy towards development and set the priorities accordingly.
