Andhra Pradesh allocates Rs.20 mn for Christian pilgrims

Andhra Pradesh allocates Rs.20 mn for Christian pilgrims

COUNTER VIEW: Andhra government to give Christians subsidy to visit Israel - The Times of India

there are so many right wing Hindu organizations articles about giving subsidies to Christians by YSR.This two is some what looks to be of better language.

Oh then in presence of these kinds of subsidies for other minority communities, do you think GoI's decision to withdraw the same for Huj is justified???

Oh then in presence of these kinds of subsidies for other minority communities, do you think GoI's decision to withdraw the same for Huj is justified???

Do you know the difference between GoI and Andhra govt.????

Let me help you GoI is central government of whole India and Andhra Government is a government of a state.

In Andhra Predesh, Kerala etc. there is reservation for Muslims and Christians in Government Jobs and seats in educations institutes Universities, colleges etc. but Central govt. does not provide reservation on the basis of religion.

I hope now, it is clear to you.

GoI wont withdraw both subsidies,it will hurt their minority vote bank in case they withdraw these subsidies opposition (other than bjp) may utilize it.
my personal view is government should not withdraw both, and should also give to Sikhs (visiting Gurudwaras in Pakistan) and Buddhists visiting Nepal and Hindus visiting Kailash (China).

hajj should be from your own money and if you can otherwise take money from manmohan and go hajj is un islamic unfair for poor of india.

@ Adolf Hitler

Disagreed completely.

Subsidies are the bane of our economy. There should be absolutely NO subsidies, especially for religious purposes.

You want the govt. to help the minorities? I say help those below the poverty line. Get them basic infrastructure and affordable food. But absolutely no subsidies for fulfilling your religious duties.

Muslims and Christian minorities are also Taxpayers of our country,so whats wrong if Government of India spending a small percentage of it to perform religious ritual, for a Muslim Hajj is one of the important things in life,i said of other religious subsidies because ours is a secular country.i think you can understand difference between economic subsidies and religious subsidies.

My personal opinion is that Govt. of India should only be concerned about Economic welfare of it's citizen. Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Jains, Hindus, Buddhists, Mormons, Scientologists .... it does not matter what your religion is, as long as you are a citizen of India. Religion is a private matter and should remain private. It should play no role in governance.
