So much for minimum government and maximum governance. Jhumla from day 1
The reshuffle will require the resignation of a few ministers, since the council can have only 82. While currently, there are 66 ministers including the Prime Minister, sources said there could be as many as six exits.

Well Modi's site refers as follows...huh...it's a simple question.
Is anyone in Modi's cabinet convicted?
Well Modi's site refers as follows...
For decades, we have had extraordinarily large governments while ironically the quality of governance has been quite poor. There has been more attention paid to the size of the government and not so much to its quality.
He clearly speaks about size(numerical) portion....

You and me very well know that those convicted are ineligible to fight elections forget about ministries. I am referring to serious criminal charges....

You do know that our justice system and its present drawbacks, Till the time you get a conviction, these goons are either dead or almost dead. What are your views on Tytler and Kamal nath? Are they also innocent? What's your view on Sonia Gandhi and Vadhra, Are they innocent?Someone facing criminal charges is NOT a criminal till he is convicted. So its another rubbish argument unless you have no faith in our court system.
As far as the maximum governance, minimum government philosophy goes, it is about extracting the most delivery from every govt worker. The vast bulk of these (numbers wise) come from the bureaucracy, NOT the top level ministry and cabinet.
So what you were doing earlier by trying to say the philosophy is not being followed because Modi is increasing the number of top level ministers is quite silly since these represent a tiny tiny fraction compared to the lower level bureaucracy (IAS etc.) and infact you would probably have to increase the number of quality top level ministers so they can better implement the philosophy in their departments and monitor and improve internal efficiencies by implementing merit based and performance based measuring.
Obviously as that permeates, the extra "fat" of the bureaucracy will be skimmed off with time as the inefficient and incompetent bureaucrats are shown the door and efficient, hard working and result delivering ones are rewarded and promoted and allowed more responsbility and independence.
That is the whole system in a nutshell that Modi is trying to implement in a long term sustained way. It wont come overnight, but at least he is trying (and results are showing)....that is infinitely more than what scamgress did ....considering full fledged CABINET ministers were involved in all sorts of scams....so forget about them even pausing to think about streamlining bureaucracy....they actually benefited from having a bloated inefficient bureaucracy so their more visible ministers would look good by comparison.
Is that any way to run a govt? And with that in mind you are going to nitpick an increase in the size of council of ministers as though India's bureaucracy membership can be counted on one hand?
