Govt bans all fresh arms licences

The Interior Ministry has banned issuance of fresh arms licences.
However, the ministry's notification issued on Thursday says all cases duly approved and where fees were deposited before June 20 will be processed. But, it added, there would be ban on issuance of all fresh arms licences where fee had not been deposited.
The competent authority has approved to continue computerisation of already issued licences, besides entertaining renewal of already issued computerised cards and cases of inheritance.
Similarly, licences to institutions, companies, organisations, trusts and NGOs where fee had been deposited before June 20 would be processed, the notification added.

What the heck is wrong with every government, banning arms licenses is something that every government does time and again. Make up your mind, either ban it totally and cancel all licenses issued since 1947, or increase the license fee (generate some revenue) and make it easy for anyone to acquire it subject to background checks.

What is the opinion Pakistanis have on carrying arms?

1. Would banning on arms in areas like Karachi, for example, bring down violence?
2. Would it not make sense to go in for a gradual stage wise control over guns. For example, declare regions like Islamabad, Lahore as category A, where only air pistols are allowed and so on and so forth.
3. Stringent control of makers of these home made arms.

this act doesnot stop voilence all over the country just answer my qs
what should i do for my own defence how to defend my self
i am living in that village where we cannot go out of home after maghrib chori and daketis are going common
so what should we do tell me to ever stay at home??? is this a free country??? can we live freely??? so i req to gov. kindly grant us 9mm or 30 cal. hand guns license. we are not asking for machines and sub machines.

Common people have enough arms that would put a medium sized and budgeted army to shame.

Unless the criminal justice system is improved dramatically, and the national data center project is concluded
no government / agency can control arms.

Issuing licence is a safe way to minimize crime, and ministry of interior has the right to make some data base of weapons and licence holders that no one can issue arms more then one.
And if these licences are baned the criminals will purchase them, leaving no clue to our police. but if the record of arms and issuence is kept and after 3 or five years showing the related arms with licences in police stations is made necessory, then no one will tolerate to lose his wappon so it may be used for false perposes. and if any guilty person is cought using arms then they must be grounded as well as licence should be cancelled.
This is how if pakistan wants to get rid of this arms issue.
Also securing the afghan boarder with the army such as done at eastern boarders will actually block the arms usage. In peshawar there are less shops of vendors but more of guns dealers.
If any one here who can give advise to governement and chaudhary nisar sb then please do this for the safty of your childeren.
Because combats like the former operations can not do work accept taking it proactive.

Only way to make for MONEY for bureaucrats!! Officially license closed (Official fee of License in 4500).

Now to make a "computerized license", go to a dealer and he'll make one for you (genuine! you'll even visit home dept for photos etc) for 25000/-

5 lakh licenses were issued LAST time when licenses were officially closed. Can someone calculate How much EXTRA (black money) was spent?
