Google to move Hardware production to Vietnam

.
Google plans to totally ease hardware production in China and move to Vietnam (and Thailand) by year end.

Production includes Google pixel smartphones and chromebooks.

Thailand seems to be the future direct competitor to Vietnam in manufacturing.

Future direct competitor? Dream on, Thailand got 27 percentage of their GDP came from manufacturing , meanwhile Vietnam with their already puny GDP only got 16 percentage of gdp came from manufacturing with added value. Far behind ASEAN standard, Malaysia got 22 percentage, Singapore 21 percentage, Philippine 19 percentage, Indonesia 20 percentage, Myanmar 24 percentage.

I'm not well versed with the issues in far-east but I feel that ASEAN countries are not particularly enthusiastic about Vietnam: Why is it so?

We are marching in quick step towards industrialization and first world, while Indonesia is stuck in endless circles of inner fightings and developing status. In short, they are jealous of our success, bro. Sorry, I can’t help them. They must help themselves.

Samsung and US brands era is over
Why does an Indonesian seem happy for that? Is it because thousands of Chinese phone and component factories have gone to Indonesia to invest?

Yeah, sure... Samsung is over. Maybe in whatever universe you currently inhabit, but in the real world, Samsung sells a lot of phones (And other technologies)

They aren’t going anywhere anytime.soon.

I’m not Korean, so I’m not approaching this from a nationalistic Point of view. unlike many here who do.

ASEAN was formed to fight against VN invasion to Camb in 1979, they fear that VN would annex them like we annexed Champa, Khmer's lands....but they just fight against VN by mouths only cos their armies suck, cant fight in real war

-----
The creation of ASEAN was motivated by a common fear of communism.[21] The group achieved greater cohesion in the mid-1970s following a change in the balance of power after the end of the Vietnam War in 1975. The region's dynamic economic growth during the 1970s strengthened the organisation, enabling ASEAN to adopt a unified response to Vietnam's invasion of Cambodia in 1979.

I believe anyone in the world would prefer to live in commie countries like Laos, China and Vietnam than enjoying democracy and freedom in poorer countries.

In all former (and current) communist countries, people can live in civilized manners and the state takes care of people, therefore, even if they are poor (like Laos and Vietnam), the average people can still live in a decent and dignity lives. But just take a look at other Western-style democratic poor countries all over the world.

You would be wrong if you think Indonesia is morally superior than Vietnam because you live in democracy.
