Meow”: This is the sound that a cat makes, displays Google Search together with an adorable audio clip of a meowing cat. The new search option allows users to play the sounds made by dogs and bowhead whales.
Typing in the phrase “animal sounds” brings up clips from 19 beasts.
Real animals, including an elephant, a horse and a cat, were recorded to produce the clips, which are available on Android and iOS as well as the web.
While animals like apes, cows and ducks are commonly found in picture books and songs, some of the other sounds are more unusual.
Along with the bowhead whale, Google can also teach you what a raccoon, a turtle and a zebra all sound like.
The other animals available are the lion, the moose, the owl, the rooster, the sheep, the tiger, the turkey and the humpback whale.
The feature aims to help kids know what sounds animals make when they search for “animal noises” and “what does the (animal) say” through Google’s search engine.
