Taliban and its ideology can not be defined as a set of people or groups. It is a mindset. Pakistan as a nation was supposed to be a modern Islamic nation which is in direct contrast with the mindset that the current Taliban follows.
So it is not exactly, Taliban like India will be a threat like attacking your army or opposing you in international forum, but you will feel the -ve impact on your society in the long run.
