Ghulam Azam surrenders, jailed

Letting Hasina come back was not the only mistake. BNP also made a mistake by Promoting The traitor Moin to COAS and
appointing the dalal fakurudin as BB. These were disastrous mistakes. BNP-Jamat had a democratic mindset and allowed Al
to practice their rights even though the awami thugs caused anarchy. BNP-Jamat should have ruled over these Bharati
dalals with an iron fist. Inshallah when BNP-Jamat come back to power I hope they won't make the same mistakes.

The idiot Moeen promoted himself to 4-star general.

^Oh my...I don't see how the AL is going to improve relations with the Middle Eastern states...that's one of the reasons why they stopped hiring Bangladeshi workers. Not because they are causing problems like the Bharots are claiming (which is all they can do).

Okay, it is fine to try someone suspected of war crimes. But why make people who had nothing to do with it pay? Why make the innocent pay? This is the thing I was afraid of.

This regime will be annihilated at some point. Don't ask me when or how, but they'll be annihilated at some point. Don't matter how much the Indians huff and puff. I guarantee it.

Ohhh...I wonder if they can do that

As if they'd be willing to hire Bangladeshi laborers.

They are already whining over the Bangladeshi refugee issue 40 years on  Many even lose their minds over the issue on PDF.

Another important thing is that can they determine and maintain some degree of control over the Middle Eastern states and the US? Tying up the loose ends of the Cold War-era past? I really, really doubt it.

I don't get it...just what is India hoping to achieve through the AL? I think the ultimate deliverables of such a venture will be limited at best.

Seems like there are a lot of fanboys in New Delhi. Well, good for them. Call it a case of reckless and juvenile jingoism.

It's off-topic, but but I don't think your avatar is Islamic man! Pakistan needs a new law, similar to the Blasphemy Law, that punishes men who try to look cooler than mullahs with western attire!

Secular Bengali nation. A secular Bengali nation won't be threat to Indian dominance however conservative Muslim will never bow down to Hindu India. Jamat may not be popular like BNP or AL but they are the main voice against kufri infused Bengali cultures. You know that Al's Bengali secularism is not acceptable among conservative muslims and Jamat-e-Islamic has been the main contributors behind the Islamization of Bangladesh.

It's very much clear now that Al, first wants to hang all top Jamat leaders by hook or crook and then go after BNP. If Al succeed then they will be in power for many years and Bangladesh will be like maid servant of India.

So, it's up to the Bangladeshi Muslims to prevent this illegal killing of Jamat leaders and destroy Al traitors to keep the spirit of Islam alive in Bangladesh.

Activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student front Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) clashed with police at Paltan in the city Thursday protesting the detention of former Ameer of the party Ghulam Azam.

Police said the unruly protesters also set fire to a police van at about 5:00pm, causing panic among the people passing through the area.

Duty officer of Motijheel Police Station Sazzad Hossain told the FE that the trouble occurred in the late afternoon when several hundred Jamaat activists suddenly launched an attack on the police in front of Hasan International Hotel.

At least four police personnel were critically wounded in the violence that lasted for nearly 20 minutes. The injured policemen were rushed to Razarbagh Police Lines Hospital for treatment, he said.

"Three protesters were also picked up from the place of occurrence," the duty officer said, adding that they also damaged a number of passing vehicles.

Witnesses said the protesters brought out a procession in Paltan area at around 5:00pm. As police intercepted it, they threw brickbats at the law enforcers and torched the police van despite tight security.

Police also lobbed tear gas shells and charged baton to disperse the protesters.

Security has further been tightened in the city following trouble.

Ghulam Azam was sent to jail Wednesday on charges of committing crimes against humanity and peace, genocide and war crimes during Bangladesh's Liberation War in 1971.

The International Crimes Tribunal, rejecting his bail petition, ordered sending Azam, who stands accused on 62 specific charges, to Dhaka Central Jail Wednesday.

It was joyous to see the bloody awami police get beaten up by Shibir. BNP cowards need to develop some gut and go after the Awami polices.
