Jinns

In Islamic theology jinn are said to be creatures with free will, made from 'smokeless fire' by Allah in the same way humans were made of earth.[10] According to the Qur'an, Djinn have free will, and Iblis used this freedom in front of Allah by refusing to bow to Adam when Allah told Iblis to do so. By disobeying Allah, he was thrown out of Paradise and called “Shaitan”. Djinn are frequently mentioned in the Qur'an, Sura 72 of the Qur'an (named Al-Jinn) is entirely about them. Another Sura (Al-Nas) mentions Djinn in the last verse.[11] The Qur’an also mentions that Muhammad was sent as a prophet to both “humanity and the Djinn”.[12][13]

Similar to humans, jinn have free will allowing them to follow any religion they choose. They are usually invisible to humans and humans do not appear clear to them. However, jinn often harass and even possess humans, for various reasons, such as romantic infatuation, revenge, or because of a deal made with a practitioner of black magic. Jinns have the power to travel large distances extremely quickly and live in remote areas, mountains, seas, trees, and the air, in their own communities. Like humans, jinns will also be judged on the Day of Judgment and will be sent to Heaven or Hell according to their deeds.

Interesting. Chinese have a general concept of "coming from earth", well, obviously the saying should be interpreted in a secular way.

Intriguing. The above is pretty much a typical Chinese movie discription of a Chinese ghost story. I found it hard to believe the discription came from Islam, that's why it's so intriguing.

Well Islam came before the movie or the story.

Really? I thought ghost issues are secular. All cultures in the world are full of ghost stories throughout the history predates any religion. I would certainly be interested to read materials about what Islam thinks about ghost.

I have some material but I don't know if it is available in English. I'll search and let you know.

AOA & hello:

This is not a Joke it is a True happening believe or not its up to you.

It was the Summer holidays 2003 i was in Grade 10 and left for my Uncle's house In Sargodha for preparing my Studies and stayed there for the rest of the Holidays.

I used to go to a teacher who run a Tution center at that time , and i was really bad at maths and he was helping me out with that.

We had this new boy Rizwan in the Acadamy who seemed to be a nice Bloke , so we became friends .

One day as usual we were doing Maths together and Eventually i saw Rizwan fallind down on the Floor as he went Unconcious.

We Called the Doctor as he arrived and looked at that Boy , he says this is not my Job the boy is Under effect of the Supernatural Elements ( Jinns / Ghosts ) so we called the Immam of the Mosque who also was a Hafiz , He came and looked at him , asked for a Glass of water and Started Reciting from the Holy Quran : The chapter YA'SIN.
As he finished and blown his breath on the Glass of water and then he Sprinkled that Water on the Face of Rizwan , it was my turn to get shocked as the Boy eventually jumped and started talking to someone :blah: in the room who was none of us in a Furious voice while his eyes was closed.
I was petrified !! he was shaking and we were trying to control him while the IMAM kept on Reciting...
After about 10 minutes he fell unconcious again and then he woke up!!
Never rememberd anything that had happend he was shocked to see everyone arround him and started asking that why are you look at me that way and what had happend?

Next day when i saw him , i asked for the reason .

He started talking that i had this sort of attack at home last night too and my family says that even 4 people could'nt controal me when i was trying to pull away.

He kept talking and said that a week ago i had attended a Funral ( Janaza) of my Aunt and when every one left i stayed in the Graveyard and put the Mud on the grave with my hand , and this is where i started Feeling heavy headed.
And after few days i was suffering this situation!

He got treated by the Imams and got better & they told him that he was Under a severe Attack by an Evil soul , who was woundring arround unpeacefuly and got hold of you.

After a month he had to leave & this was the time to say Good bye on the Train station , He left and i never saw him again!

I still miss that period and the things we used to talk about , I wish he would be Allrite .

This 1 Indian Army -

Harbhajan Singh of the Dogra Regiment died near the Nathula Pass in eastern Sikkim.

Harbhajan Singh drowned in a glacier during the 1962 Sino-Indian War. A manhunt was launched to find him. He was found three days later and cremated with full military honours. It was said Harbhajan led the search party to his body, and later, through a dream, instructed one of his colleagues to build and maintain a shrine after him. A shrine was built at his samadhi in the hills. Army folklore holds Baba is a stickler for discipline and is known to admonish those who do not tow this line.
A camp bed is kept for him and his boots are polished and uniform kept ready every night. The sheets are reportedly crumpled every morning and boots muddy by evening. The soldier continues to draw a salary and takes his annual leave. Legend also has it that in the event of a war between India and China, Baba would warn the Indian and Chinese soldiers three days in advance.
During the flag meetings between the two nations at Nathula, the Chinese set a chair aside for the saint. Every year on September 14, a jeep departs with his personal belongings to the nearest railway station, New Jalpaiguri, where it is then sent by train to the village of Kuka, in Kapurthala district in Punjab.
A small sum is also sent to his mother each month. His name still continues in the army's payrolls, his mother has still been getting his salary cheques and he has also been given all due time bound promotions.
Accordingly, presently the late soldier is treated as honorary captain. He is granted two months annual leave every year, a berth is booked in train in his name and his portrait, uniform and other belongings are brought by army officials to his native village Kuka in Kapurthala district for availing leave.
Under this annual drill, belongings of "Baba" Harbhajan Singh were brought to Jalandhar from New Jalpaigudi by Dibrugarh Express on Thursday night.
A JCO, a Subedar and an Orderly accompanied the belongings. The family of the late soldier received the belongings at the railway station and later proceeded for their native village. On completion of the leave the same team of the army personnel will escort back the belongings to the Nathu La region.

There are no ghosts.

Hello : I think it is not appropriate to Declare such a statment because you would not be able to provide any Proof that Ghosts do not exist.

Lets discuss: Ghosts have been arround for thousands of years , since the anciant human beings and civilizations have drawn pictures of the scary objects on the walls and they used to believe in supernatural elements.

for over 2000 years Humans cannot deny their existance , there are people in every country who belive in Ghosts because they have had in Encounter.

So where would you find ghosts:

They can be everywhere , depending on their type , in urban , rural areas and Graveyards are supposed to be their Favourite spot.

Naturaly they do not harm any Human unless penetrated or if they are Evil.

Hope it helps.

When i said ghosts i meant Jinns

No jokes, only reality here.

This incident happened in front of me, this took place in the summer of 2006, it happened at night time. It was my aunts janaza (funeral) that day, and at night i went with my dads cousin to his house, there was something wrong with her mother. We got there and his mother was lying on a bed, unconscious. So we sat down around her, and i asked him what was wrong with her, and he told me she was possessed, and its the second time that happened, the first time when my grandmother passed away. As i was talking with him, i witnessed a exorcist scene, his mother stated yelling, threw her arms and legs in the air, kept sitting up and then throwing her self back down on the bed. She was talking to some one, asking some one to forgive her, leave her alone and some times she would yell "ya ali" stuff like that. After a while a old guy(peer-witch doctor??) came to look at her and give her a taveez(What would we call that in english). I went back home after that and the next morning i saw her again and she was fine.

If you guys have any related stories or encounters do share

I have some more incidents that happened with my grandpa which were pretty crazy.

Friend the above incident seems to be a case of hysteria because of shocking death.

Another incident, when ever i visit pakistan i spend a lot of time at my cousins house, he lives in okara. There was this old women she lived next doors by her self. Poor soul, she had a son but never came to visit. The old lady passed away, and we used to hear an women crying, it would come for some time and it came from her house and the house was deserted no 1 lived there anymore. I have heard the crying my self, they have also seen an old women walking in front of the house in middle of night and dissapering. We used to play cricket on he roof, and our cricket ball would go into her house. We wouldn't go in her house to get the ball, no one would from the community, there were maybe more then 100 balls in that house. Now they have demolished the house and built a mosque over it.

My cousins house is creepy also, i can't sleep alone in a room, i used to sleep alone and some times the flan would stop working and then would turn on by it self, the light would turn on and off. This was not due to no electricity in the house, cuz other rooms of the house has electricity. I believe this could be due to short circuit in wires, so i used to ignore it. I would all of a sudden wake up in the middle of the night, One time i was sleeping and woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't move my body and get up for a while.

i was speechless, never experienced something like that before.

Sleep paralysis definition - Medical Dictionary definitions of popular medical terms easily defined on MedTerms

A frightening form of paralysis that occurs when a person suddenly finds himself or herself unable to move for a few minutes, most often upon falling asleep or waking up. Sleep paralysis is due to an ill-timed disconnection between the brain and the body.

The symptoms of sleep paralysis include sensations of noises, smells, levitation, paralysis, terror, and images of frightening intruders. Once considered very rare, about half of all people are now believed to experience sleep paralysis sometime during their life.

This is also the most common explanation for people who claim to be visited by aliens or 'the witch' in the middle of the night.

However, I do believe in jinns. Anybody who has lived with animals can probably tell you stories. Especially dogs and horses seem to be extra sensitive to these beings.
