I'm not asking it of them. It's just that it will obviously take longer to find Ghadafi if there are no troops on the ground. I'm fine with that.
We're in a much better financial situation than many other countries, we've already made cuts to reduce our debt.

I am kind of curious, but under the current circumstance, can UK still functions after another set of social program cutting just to keep the Libya campaign going? How long will this "boots on the ground" thing going? 1 month, 3 months, 1 year or 10 years? How many people will be able to sacrifice bread and butter for a military expedition and how many people will go on the street to start another round of riot?

My question is "What if" David Cameron decides to send troops for an extended Libya campaign, what kind of social consequences will there be for the entire UK society. How many people are willing to support such military expedition and will the UK economy even be able to survive such an expansive expenditure.

He's already said that he won't send troops. Going against his word would be political suicide. There wouldn't be much support because we're already at war. I have no idea how much it would cost so I can't comment on that.
