Get Used to It, America: We’re No Longer No. 1

I did say we are not ahead of the US individually, but man you gotta come to China one day. I have been to a few US cities, and let me tell you, the inner cities is like slightly better than India. The infrastructure is creaky, the interstate has holes, the metro system is creaky. Freedom of speech, let's not start that debate shall we. US has got selective freedom, we all know that.

You are starting to sound like an Indian. :D

The Poorest state in US , Mississippi is still richer than China by about $15K . US is universally developed across its area . Majority of its Suburbs , Towns and Villages have the same quality of life as cities and are very aesthetically pleasing to the eye. It's not selectively developed like China where you guys keep posting pictures of few select areas in the city . If you go to rural Minnesota or Montana you can bet you get the same things you get in urban areas . In China we all know how your villages and towns are , you can keep posting those select few videos to fool the world .

In term of people development, US is certainly ahead China, since US is a developed country while China is developing country.

However in term of city's infrastructure it may not be like that; the top tier Chinese cities could be more developed than the top tier US cities.

Talking about freedom and democracy, they are not basic/prime or even secondary human needs. What for you have election freedom but living poor? or living under high crime rate environment? or have insufficient infrastructure or health care access? talking about comparing with Pakistan, India etc :-)

Now talking about comparing with US. Yes US may have pride of freedom for election etc, but China's people have their own pride such as the meteoritical progress of their country, living in very low crime rate society, this could compensate the feeling of pride due to freedom for election democracy etc.

Can the Chinese criticise their government and protest against them? It's like ruling a group of robots where you have no say in anything. Majority of the infrastructure in US was built almost a century ago or 60-70 years ago . China built its infrastructure in last decade . How are you competing in other Indexes ? Do you need me to copy all those indexes where China is behind even Syria and Ethiopia or Thailand let alone US?

Actually in terms of infrastructure, US is indeed far falling behind, it's not only about city building, but also highways, railways, subways, bridges, ports and airports...

Until a diversity of talent is attracted to LIVE and work in China out of choice, China maybe powerful but will never have that desirability factor.

It will never happen, China is not an immigration country, and east Asian cultures focus on unity, collectiveness and homogeneity, same as Japan and Korea.

Keep Backtracking . When I first countered your point to Immigrants not wanting to Immigrate to China you come up with other irrelevant things . Cleveland is America's poorest big city with a median per capita of $30000 ( So the poorest city in America is still richer than 99 % of the places in China )

You can on harping about how much you consume . Dude you are 1.2 Billion people , you will automatically consume more., that's not an achievement . Do you see me Saying Pakistan is better than Finland just because our GDP is bigger than them by virtue of our 220 Million vs 5 Million Finish ?

325 Million American's have a bigger output than 1.3 Billion Chinese . That's a slap on your face not an achievement.

So have the grey-matter deficient trolls called you a false flagging Indian yet @Khan_21 ?

They honestly have no idea how their simplistic uni-dimensional cookie-cutter analysis makes them look and simply adds to the stereotype about PRC people.

Then why if its such milk and honey land...do so many migrate to the west still?...that too INCREASING (as Chinese economy supposedly is improving faster than anything in the US?)

If you do not take others in...ok...but why so many of you leave for foreign shores...and the pace increasing?

That's because Nobody wants to Immigrate to China. You have to reach a certain level of quality of life for people to immigrate to your country . China's HDI is lower than Thailand and Srilanka . Why the Heck would anybody want to move there ?

Japan and Korea hardly allows immigration and in my humble opinion immigration is a critical factor in determining the vibrancy of a place.so while Japan maybe a tech superpower in the eighties no one dreamed of a Japanese dream and at some point it became insular.

Chinese Students , Businessman and Millionaires are lining up to move to US/Australia/ Canada/UK in thousands.

https://www.teachingnomad.com/disco...-popular-us-universities-for-chinese-students

The United States remains the most popular destination for Chinese students looking to study abroad. In the 2013-2014 school year over 274,000 Chinese students came to the United States to study, accounting for 31% of the entire international student body that year. A large number of these students come from China’s wealthiest and most powerful families—the daughter of President Xi Jinping, for example, studied under an assumed name at Harvard. While the US remains the uncontested number one destination for Chinese students, the U.K. came in second with a total of 58,810 students commencing their studies in the 2013-2014 school year, compared to 57,190 Chinese students in all other European countries.

While Chinese students only make up about 1.24 percent of the total student enrollment in the United States, an article from the Atlantic this year stated that they contributed $22 Billion to the U.S. economy. Financially strained universities are actively recruiting students from abroad, and the number of Chinese freshmen in the states has nearly tripled since the recession in 2008. Increased revenue seems to be a key factor in recruiting Chinese students, sometimes causing universities to choose profits over academic integrity. According to a 2010 report by Zinch China, 90% of all recommendation letters for Chinese applicants to U.S. universities are fake. What’s more, 70% of application essays are not composed by the student, while 50% of grade transcripts are falsified. Although the fraud has been described as a “significant concern” for many admission officers by the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), US universities can’t seem quit their addiction to Chinese college students.

Universities aren’t the only parties benefitting from the increased interest in studying in the United States, however. While a U.S. College education itself already costs a fortune, “college consultants” in China charge parents hefty fees to get their children into foreign universities. One student at a Midwestern university told CNN that her parents had paid three consultants $ 4,500 to fill out the application, write her personal essay and even compose teacher recommendation letters. In 2014, the college consulting and test preparation market in China reached close to $550 million, with parents paying upwards of $30,000 to try to get their kids into top-tier American universities.

So the President's daughter doesn't want to study in China herself but here are these Chinese posters telling us how much steel and coal they consuming:lol:

Temporary workers will not find a stake in the betterment of China. They are like the helpers in the household who just work for a fee
