I've actually read another article that said these weasel coffee are dangerous for the human consumption and it's marketing gimmick that is driving the prices up for a few unlucky vietnamese with more money than cents (sense). This will never pass stricter western quality control as I've yet to see them in Canada and US.

Yes, it will never be a popular coffee given the quality control, but only for those who want to try something new and different from others. There is a such coffee shop in China, but who knows if it's the real ones. And it looks like Japanese have higher taste standard than Koreans.

My opinion as well.. Although I haven't read any medical studies proving it one way or the other. it just sounds nasty.

Someone earlier in this thread brought up 'feces wine' that Koreans supposedly drink. Now that totally made me wanna barf

And plans for the foreseeable future to have a change of scenery ? Perhaps visiting the Orient or going backpacking through the US ?

Currently in the early planning stages for a trip to that part of Asia. I had originally planned to go by late 2014, but with my Dad and Grandmother passing away last summer, that quickly became low priority and took a back seat

Hoping a few friends will be able to go with me. Right now, we're basically in the preliminary planning stage and trying to pick dates that we will all be free for extended travel and will have the extended funds. Even if they can't go, I will still go alone. Although I hope at least one friend can go, as it would be more fun.

No backpacking plans, but will be soon heading up to the mountains for some serious snowboarding action though

You coming back to the states anytime soon? Or another vacation destination in your near future

I french press my coffee every day before work. In fact i even have a french press at work. You can taste the flavor , the rich beans. Btw, i get java coffee beans, but also starting to try Colombian coffee beans...

if you love coffee and are a coffee fiend like me, i recommend you buy a french press. good investment
