Germany sees China as military threat, sending warship to Indopacific in August

.
Wow. Brings Germany back to German empire power level. :smokin:

not building an empire but keeping the chinese in check is a good move. 4 destroyers for a cost of 6 billion USD, especially designed for warm waters aka southchina sea. each weights more than 10,000 tons.

Capability and action are separate concepts. Capability or its tactical reflections can be argued, but there is an indisputable fact that the thought of "taking action" started to happening.

The opportunities used by Russia are one of the dynamics that forcing atlanticist mind too much. Direct occupation of 3 countries. Land claims from 3 different countries, and support regime changes in many countries through mercenaries. All of these are partly(but mostly) related to the loosening of this structure and the weakening of its reflexes in the last 15 years. China's potential is incomparably higher than Russia. This situation telling that Atlantic to face much more severe consequences if it continues to sleep. So, All of these tactical developments are about reminding China where to stand, as well as an effort to stand up and show its presence again for this structure which are part of a larger strategy.

The current situation is difficult for the western world to get used to, some traditional geopolitical constants are changing. They need to test some things and see... If you look at the whole picture, these are definitely not empty threats or actions. If there is one thing I know in humankind history, it is that there is not any hegemonic structure gave its power free of charge.

4 new destroyers of MKS 180 class are coming.
I just googled this "destroyer" you mention out of curiosity, first of all it's not a destroyer, it's a frigate, it's true that it is 10k tonnes but it's level of armament is pathetic when compared to a real destroyer. It only has 16 mk41 vls cells and 8 additional cruise missiles, even if the cells are quadpacked it doesn't change the fact it only has 16 cells, you seriously call a ship with just 16 vls cells a DDG! Get real please.
Also these oversized and overprized frigates will only enter service in 2027 or 2028, do you have any idea just how many real DDGs will China have by that time! Comapring the German navy to the PLAN is an insult to the PLAN.
And each one of these frigates costs 1.3 billion Euros, that explains why Germany has to increase spending this much while not being able to produce a proper DDG.

By 2027 / 2028 China has at least 16 Type 055 operational.

The idiot @Viet thinks one or two Dutch/French/German or some British Aircraft Carrier will make a difference when the US Navy cannot defeat China in the South China Sea. He thinks these QUAD and some european navies are the justice league or something. The Vietnamese are in despair, going as far as telling their women to spread their legs open for these foreign sailors as long they keep cruising around in the neighborhood. During the Vietnam War we saw photos of little girls rubbing bananas as long the American soldiers are satisfied.

cost for Type 055: 1 billion USD

cost for Arleigh Burke Flight IIA: 2 billion USD

That's why the US is so upset right now that even with their 700 billion USD military expenditure still cannot beat China's 200 billion.

Remarkable given how it was in the cold war.

Without a doubt, USSR's ships were decisively better armed, and designed, but NATO simply had more ships than USSR had missiles.
