VINFAST APPOINTS EDAG AS OVERALL DEVELOPMENT PARTNER FOR ITS FIRST BATTERY POWERED VEHICLE

Hanoi / Wiesbaden, 24th May 2018 EDAG, the world's largest independent German engineering service provider, has been awarded a contract by VinFast Manufacturing und Trading Company Limited for the complete development of the first electric vehicle for the Vietnamese market. The startup company of the Vietnamese Vingroup plans to conquer the auto markets in Vietnam and beyond with two conventionally powered vehicle models and a fully electric city car. Top quality, affordable cars - this is VinFast's formula for success.

"We are proud that VinFast has chosen to appoint us as the overall engineering part-ner to work on their trendsetting electric vehicle project," stated Cosimo De Carlo, CEO of the EDAG Group. "Our all-round skills in vehicle and production plant devel-opment coupled with our expertise in the fields of eMobility, car IT and elec-trics/electronics inspired the confidence of our customer VinFast.

Our standing as an independent engineering service provider with international expe-rience predestines us to go new ways at high technical levels and turn innovative con-cepts into marketable products."

What's the projected price?

.
What's the projected price?
Is it too early to tell but the price will be cheaper than elsewhere in overseas, so middle class Vietnamese can switch from bikes to cars. Mitsubishi conventional powered car such as Outlander produced in Vietnam for instance costs $9,000 cheaper than in Japan. Mitsubishi wants to develop a EV model for Vietnam. I expect that electric cars produced in Vietnam will definitely be at least $9,000 cheaper than in Japan.

What lie?

Do you want to accuse the Japanese are liars?

http://english.thesaigontimes.vn/58...unches-locally-assembled-Outlander-autos.html

Kenichi Horinouchi, general director of Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam (MMV), the authorized distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles in Vietnam, said prices of Outlander autos made in Japan are too high for Vietnamese consumers.

Therefore, MMV decided to assemble the car in Vietnam, which is VND200 million (over US$8,810) cheaper than those made in Japan.

Aha... You are such a idiot...
This article means you can not afford imported Japanese cars which is too expensive due to taxes etc (I guess)...

Buuuuut... It does not mean made in vn cars will be cheaper (might be cheaper in vn compared to imported same model ones)... but to the contrary, It will be waaaay more expensive if you want to export to other countries...as shown in my post above (just see how much Outlander costs in Japan as compared to vn...)...

Need to count tax (abt 100-200%) when JP car shipping to VN

Car assembled Vn is expensive cos we also charge abt 20 % tax to spare part imported from other countries. When we reduce imported spare part tax to 0 % or make car wt 40 % localization, then price will reduce.

As I stated before, vn has no advantage in car making as compared to Japan, Korea, Thailand, etc...
Labor cost plays a minimal role in car making. (Supply chain, technology, brand image, etc all matter)
But anyway, I am just pointing out some facts... At least you are trying and might be able to achieve something... who knows...

Making car is easy wt German help. SK, Thai r not TPP members, so they r dying. Car made in JP will be more expensive than in VN.

We will take TPP market wt German, France tech, thats it

One step at a time. Step by step. Small car first then big car will follow. Here the highest tower in SE Asia nears completion - landmark 81 - constructed by a Vietnamese company. We can build hundreds more across Vietnam.
