Germany plans to build new leopard tank

Correct. Let's hope the new tank won't be a compromised vehicle because of some French 'requirements'. The Germans have an outstanding reputation for building tanks, let's hope that continues with the next generation. It did work for Airbus, should work for the tanks.
From the CG, the new tank would be dominated by German techniques, so it would outstanding, I have to Admit I will rank Leopard2 A6 superior than any French MBT, anyway I appreciate the new tank with dense German style。

Are you daft? Wtf is the point in underscore the RATIO of domestic vs export orders?? 1 domestic order and 1 export order, wow, what a ratio! I don't get it. Anyway, Germany had a lot more orders, to actual countries, not semi-protectorates. And btw, France is doing it's best right now to sell some SECOND HAND Leclercs to Qatar. Their production line is shut down btw, Leopard's line is open for le bizniz. Anyway, the Leopard has been sold to more countries and in greater numbers. New and second hand. And it's consistently ranked above the Leclerc. Anyway, hope the French don't ruin the third generation.

In general Leopard2s are main stream heavy panzer of you western camp( NATO), which is doubtless, The export of lercler is just constrainedly and more like token.

. . .
Dutch army has 200leopards 2 A6, Canadian has more, they are not second handed.
The Netherlands only recently decided to keep rather than sell the last 15 Leo2A6. Canada has used ex-Dutch Leo2s from NL, whcich were traded in with KMW for newer versions from German and Swiss stock, ALL of which are rebuilt 2A4s.

NL has traded heavy armor for air mobility. We nog plink tanks only by other means.

What do you mean by traded for air mobility?

What do you mean by traded for air mobility?
We dissolved an armored brigade, sold the heavy equipment and used the revenue to party finance equipment for a newly formed air-mobile brigade which depends on helicopters and cargoplanes for mobility over long distances. This complements our para, commando and marine units as the mission of our military changes.

The 11th Airmobile Brigade (Dutch: 11 Luchtmobiele Brigade) is a rapid and light infantry unit within the Dutch forces and can be deployed anywhere on the globe within five to twenty days to defend its own or allied territory, protect the international rule of law and support law enforcement, disaster relief and humanitarian aid. Deployment can be as part of NATO, United Nations or WEU (West European Union).
When the Airmobile Brigade, an Army brigade, operates integrated with the Dutch Defence Helicopter Command, an Air Force command, they form the '11th Air Manoeuvre Brigade' (11 AMB).
Helicopters from the Defence Helicopter Command support 11th Airmobile Brigade with troop transports and the transport of weapons and materials. Attack helicopters are used for reconnaissance, to give air support, and to provide cover for infantry on the ground. When helicopters are used in combination with infantry as parts of an offensive operation it is called an 'Air assault' operation. When troopcarrier helicopters are just used to bring infantry from A to B it is called an 'Air mobile' operation. With attack helicopters performing on their own it is called an 'Air mechanized' operation. When paratroopers are deployed it is called an 'Airborne' operation. The brigade is also able to operate 'Motorized' with heavily armed light armored vehicles. Specially trained units are also able to assist Special Forces as a 'Special Operations Task Group' (SOTG).
In 2003 in Poland (exercise Gainful Sword), 2012 in the Netherlands (exercise Peregrine Sword) and 2014 in Hungary the brigade had and succeeded for its operational readiness test to (re)apply for its 'Air assault' status. Passing the test it proved to be able to run a brigade operation with the Air Mobile Brigade and Defence Helicopter Command integrated as the 11th Air Manoeuvre Brigade.

Since the end of the Cold War, the army concentrates on peace-keeping and peace-enforcing operations and has been involved in several operations (in Lebanon between 1979 and 1985, and the former Yugoslavia (Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia and Kosovo) 1991–present, but also in Cambodia 1992–1994, Haiti 1995–1996, Cyprus 1998–1999, Eritrea and Ethiopia 2001, and most recent in Iraq 2003–2005, Afghanistan 2002–2010 and Chad 2008–2009).
568 AIFV (YPR-765) infantry fighting vehicles were in service until June 2012, while of a total of 445 Leopard 2 MBTs originally purchased, 114 tanks and 1 turret were sold to Austria, 100 to Canada, 57 to Norway, 1 driver training tank and 10 turrets to Germany and 38 to Portugal (1 driver training tank). On April 8, 2011 the Dutch Ministry of Defense dissolved the last tank unit and sold the remaining Leopard tanks due to large budget cuts.[6] On May 18, 2011 the last Leopard 2 fired the final shot at the Bergen-Hohne Training Area.[7]

Thank you NL!!!!! we didnt understand the power that we were aquiring, its simply the best, that L55 is unstopable. And YES you made a mistake, there is allways a need for heavy forces. You just cant traine and eqquip a heavy force in short time. I spend part of my military service (1994-1998) in the Portuguese BrigMec (Mechanized Brigade) at Santa Margarida in the GCC (Tank Group). We had only the M60A3TTS, actually only remains in the 3ºECC (3rd Tank Sqn).
Reporting the videos on Syria, we allways new that fighting in Urban and urbanized rural country its hell for tanks. Thats one of the reasons we have two Infantry Bns in the Brigade, we will never expose our tanks in a city like the Syrians. This was the motive for 100000000 fights with the Infantry Officers. The Infantry will take the front, the tanks will stay back giving the possible fire support, the M113A1/2/Pandur.II must dismount the Infantry and stay back of the Tanks. Assaults must be started at night to optimise the use off the night fighting divices. Critical operations are casualty evacuation and ammunition (including M72 LAW) and food/water supply. For that critical operations we will bring the M113s forward and we would lose hell with the tanks for supression fire. For the rest the Riflemen must hold their Guts.

The Pakistan Army concentrate their armour in Armoured Brigades (2 Tank Regs + 1 Mech Inf Bn), thats a good formation for the southern forces, but not for Punjab, there you need a heavier tank and mechanized Brigades with heavier APCs, ready for FIBUA.

. .
Interesting detail just like new air defense system from US-France-Germany-Italy.
Is good stuff this for the 2020s. MEADS units.
