Germany makes final break with Turkey : cancels all investments and issues travel warning

Lol, i thought the exact same thing.

As I've said, the man changes like the wind.Let's see what tomorrow brings. Full EU sanctions are hard to anticipate as countries like Romania, Poland, Hungary will most likely veto it.

Knowing Erdogan he will do the opposite of what he is saying now, there are masses that need to be fed such stuff from time to time, its a supply-demand relationship. :)

Erdogan is a bully if ever there was one. Appeasement never works with his kind. Confrontation is the only response he understands and even respects. Instead of rallying behind him, Turks should ask hard questions - what is the justification for spoiling relations with the country where millions of Turks live and work?

Gotta love the people from the other side of the planet acting like they are experts on Turkey, Turkish people and their history.

By Judging what you have wrote down here, i would say you know nothing about our country or our people.

You make out like you're one country or one person. If you have a point to make other than being offended at a very clear observation, you should make it. Otherwise feel free to be offended.

Well, we like to think that way...but it's not exactly true. For example, this spat between Qatar and GCC countries. Although, he sided with Qatar, he never used any abusive language against GCC countries and always addressed them with respect, especially Saudi Arabia. He referred to Saudi Arabia as the big brother of the GCC countries, custodian of the holy place and so on.

Of course this doesn't mean that GCC countries will pour down money but fundamentally he is not contradicting himself.

Yet, he said so much on this issue....i can't see him backpedaling.

There is one option though. Court would release the activists and Erdoğan would say, "See, i said you to trust on independent judicial system. Court decided that these people are innocent and let them go."

To he would manage to get away without getting a blow by passing the ball to the judicial system.

Time will tell but as for now, it seems that things will keep escalating.

In 20 years time the EU will be finished anyway. Brexit is stage 1 of it being dismantled.

Today Erdogan:

- Referred to Germans as "friends".
- Brayed that Germans, "are not strong enough to defame" or scare Turkey
- Assured German companies that they were not under investigation
- Accused Germans of harboring terrorists
- Did not impose any penalty on Germans or Germany for yesterday's break.

Braggadocio, inversion, and mush from the wimp.

We are a proud nation with a great history. So,believe me likes of you can't offend me.

Proud of every moment? You're beginning to sound Persian.

Where was Attaturks pride when he started making you all dress like Europeans an abandon your national dress?

Pride comes before a fall.

I know your tail pain. It even becomes evident with your misspelling of Atatürk ?

I didn't know a nations pride would come from their dress or even we had a national dress ?

Why telling nothing about the change of clothes when we arrived to Anatolia from the steppes of central asia ?
or change of the clothes when Ottomans became an empire ?
or do you even know that European style clothing came to Anatolia with Tanzimat Reforms back in the Ottoman times ?
or do you even know that all Atatürk did was to ban fez and burka from the Turkish society ?

Like i said, i very well know the likes of you. You adore Erdoğan for being an Islamist and you hate our founding father for the creation of our secular state.

Write anything you like in here. Foundations of our state is strong...nor you, neither the likes of you can ever change it.

You have me wrong. I admire some of what Ataturk (thanks for pointing out the spelling mistake) did. He picked up Turkey at it's lowest point and put it back on it's feet, but I think he suffered from an inferiority complex, which is why he was so keen to copy Europe.

Fashion also changes, I'm not a hypocrite, I write this whilst dressed in European clothes, in fact during the 19th century Turkish attire changed European fashion, even Indian cotton changed how the British dressed and decorated their homes but the change in fashion in your country went hand in hand with the change in politics. The fashion change was just 1 part of trying to copy Europe, and that mentality still exists today. It makes perfect sense to trade with Europe, it's the worlds second largest market, but the world is changing.

I wish Muslim countries would have the same self respect the Chinese have. The Chinese refer to the century of colonisation as the "century of shame". They motivated themselves with that shame, instead of hiding from it.

You as a Turk are proud of every moment, apparently even the bits where your Empire (the same Empire that represented all Muslim interests) crumbled. You need to stop doing that, lessons need to be learnt.

Our country is the worst for this. We still have people denying the facts of 1971, we have people who will back corrupt politicians to "save democracy" seemingly at the cost of Pakistan even.

This is my opinion, if you think I am wrong, that is fine. I do not wish to cause any offence or have any ill intention.

Turkey was never physically colonized

In colonised countries you still see an inferiority complex towards their colonisers.

Turkey suffered from the same inferiority complex,
Yeah, makes perfect sense.:sarcastic:

I love this escalation. The liberal leftist idiots we have over here get their pathetic ideology crushed.
You were saying similar stuff....when Erdoğan began calling "Nazis that, Nazis this" and stuff....yet you did nothing other than playing to his hand.

Hopefully, we would see something different this time....mere words are not enough. You need to make some action.
