yes there is a difference between 'supporting' extremists and supporting 'dialogue' to solve terrorism.
Going for just a military OP may not solve the issue, given that extremists will be back in couple of year and yet again we will be in this debate and the vicious circle goes on and on.

I wish NS gorw some b@lls and come up with a comprehensive political solution to contain the fall out pre/post OP. This is very important!!!

Everyone has their opinion, at the end of the day we all want peace in Pakistan.

The underlying idea behind dialogues is to render TTP without their narrative of 'Jihad' which is helping them recruit locals to fight for them and their cause. As for TTP leaders, once captured or otherwise must be blown to pieces.

agreed and i'm sure everyone would want to avoid fighting but when your left with no choice then you have to do it. now the biggest challenge for the PA would be to get the bad guys with minimal collateral damage.

I believe, Jihad is NOT the underlying narrative for TTP recruitment.

Not even a long shot.

TTP thrives on just one thing. "Show of power" and I mean brutal power.

This is how gangs / drug cartels thrive all over the world. Street from LA/USA, cartels in Mexico or FARC in Columbia

They all use utter brutality for terrorizing their regions into submission and thus recruitment.

The day Pakistani state will provide a narrative more powerful than TTP,
that will be day ordinary tribals will switch their loyalties to the more powerful entity.

To create terrorism, you need only a handful of people. The TTP is a conglomerate of groups. If those who want to talk can be separated from those who dont, the enemy designs will be exposed.

The intensity of attacks is to convince the people not to go on the path of talks.
