First we see protests along the Gaza / Israeli border.

People try to climb the fence.

Israelis have to shoot to kill to prevent the fence from being stormed by the protesters.

Then, after that has been advertised so much in the media that the public might become numb, the Palestinians show their bravery (stupidity and lack of respect for life itself if you ask me),
by launching rockets into Israel,

creating all the provocation and justification needed for a larger Israeli counterstrike to eliminate such weapons.

and this happens every 5 years or so, whenever the Palestinians have restocked both weapons and replenished their ranks with 10-to-15 year olds growning up to be 15-to-20 year olds..!

GAZA-ISRAEL BORDER (Reuters) - Palestinian militants fired more than 25 mortar bombs from Gaza into Israel on Tuesday, the Israeli military said, in one of the heaviest barrages in years.

No casualties were reported as sirens sounding across Israeli towns and villages near the Gaza border in the morning sent residents racing to shelters. The Israeli military said most of the projectiles were shot down by its Iron Dome rocket interceptor.

Violence has soared recently along the Gaza frontier, where 116 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire during mass demonstrations for a right of return to ancestral lands now in Israel.

Amid international condemnation for its use of lethal force, Israel said many of the dead were militants and that the army was repelling attacks on the border fence. Palestinians and their supporters say most of the protesters were unarmed civilians and Israel was using excessive force against them.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the mortar bomb barrages from any of the armed groups in Gaza, which is controlled by the Islamist militant Hamas movement.

But the attack followed Israeli tank shelling on Sunday that killed three members of the Palestinian militant group Islamic Jihad after an explosive device was placed at the border fence. The group had vowed to take revenge.

One of the mortar bombs exploded in the yard of an empty kindergarten, and its walls were damaged by shrapnel, a Reuters photographer said.

"No country in the world would or should accept such threats to its civilian population. Neither do we," Emmanuel Nahshon, an Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman, wrote on Twitter.

Organizers of the Palestinian border protests said they would ramp up demonstrations on Tuesday by launching a boat from Gaza in a challenge to Israel's maritime blockade of the enclave.

More than 2 million Palestinians are packed into the narrow coastal enclave. Israel withdrew its troops and settlers from Gaza in 2005 but, citing security concerns, maintains tight control of its land and sea borders, which has reduced its economy to a state of collapse.

What Palestinians do not understand is that their 'cause' gets only token support or even gets laughed at,
by all those whom should be their real target audience : western citizens.

Ever wonder why your 'boycot Israeli products' receives support from only Muslims, and not Christians (who buy a lot of Israeli products), like *was successful* in reigning in the South-Africans?

Because you let yourselves, Palestinians, be used as futile cannonfodder, you use your young (15-20 year olds) as cannon-fodder, you use your own as human shields claiming of all things that they'll go to Heaven as martyrs if they die as human shield for Palestinian militants, you let yourselves as a people be used as cannonfodder by even watching or listening to the hatred and "encouragement" you hear on too many Arab TV channels,
i could go on.

Your current morals *and* wisdom when it comes to political struggle are completely, utterly, crazy, bordering on the insane, Palestinian leaderships.

I've told you before and i'll tell you again :
* never try to employ militancy or terrorism or military action against Israel again. you save lives among your own with that, and it opens the road to effective peaceful protest.
* effective peaceful protest is never done by burning opponent's flags, desecrating large dolls of their leaders, or near the opponent's official buildings or borders.
* effective peaceful protest uses media not to recruit by spreading images of your fallen,
but by showing the peaceful sides of your society being trampled by your opponent's actions and policies.
* effective peaceful protest can take decades to achieve big results, but it's so much better than keeping your own population in suffering.

  • At least 121 Palestinians have been killed during weeks of unrest since March 30, when Palestinians began calling to be allowed to return to their historic homelands inside Israel
  • On Monday, a Palestinian who approached the border fence with what the Israeli army said an "intention of carrying out an attack" was killed by tank fire
JERUSALEM: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday pledged a forceful response to a barrage of nearly 30 mortar shells fired from Gaza at southern Israeli communities earlier in the day.
"Israel takes a grave view of the attacks on it and its communities by Hamas and Islamic Jihad from the Gaza Strip. The IDF will respond to these attacks powerfully," he said during a conference in northern Israel, referring to the Israel.

Israeli aircraft struck a position belonging to the Islamic Jihad militant group.

There were no immediate reports of casualties. An Israeli military spokeswoman declined comment on the report.

Earlier, Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip fired a "barrage of projectiles" at southern Israel, the army said, as tensions in the border area simmered.
Some of the projectiles were intercepted by the Iron Dome aerial defence system, the army said in a statement. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage in the Israeli communities.
On Monday, a Palestinian who approached the border fence with what the Israeli army said an "intention of carrying out an attack" was killed by tank fire.
A day earlier, a tank targeted an Islamic Jihad observation point in response to an explosive device being placed on the border fence.
Three members of the militant group were killed, and Israeli media said the Tuesday projectiles were Islamic Jihad's response to the attack.
At least 121 Palestinians have been killed during weeks of unrest since March 30, when Palestinians began calling to be allowed to return to their historic homelands inside Israel.
The majority were killed during protests along the border, including at least 61 on May 14.
Others have been killed in air strikes.
Israel says it is merely defending its borders and accuses Hamas of encouraging thousands of Palestinians to break through the border and attack Israelis.
Also on Tuesday, a group of activist Palestinians were due to set sail to breach Israel's naval blockade by boat.
The destination of the boat, carrying patients needing medical care, students and job-seeking university graduates, was not announced.
The Gaza Strip has been under Israeli blockade for more than a decade, with Israel saying it is necessary to prevent the Palestinian enclaves' militant Hamas rulers from obtaining means to attack the Jewish state.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said they have launched a military operation in Gaza after a barrage of mortar shells was fired towards Israel. The Iron Dome anti-missile system intercepted the majority of the missiles.
“The IDF is currently operating in the Gaza Strip. The explosions heard are related to this activity,” the Israeli forces said in a statement released on Twitter. “A barrage” of at least 28 mortar shells was launched towards several locations in Israel, according to the IDF.

“Most of the launches were intercepted by the IDF's Iron Dome aerial-defense system,”the army added.

Rocket sirens went off in several Israeli locations close to the Gaza border on Tuesday morning, the IDF stated. An Israeli kindergarten located near the Gaza Strip was hit by several mortars, video released by Israeli forces shows.

No injuries were reported as the rockets were fired when children only made their way to the school.

In the meantime, Reuters cited local residents, saying that Israeli aircraft struck a position by the Islamic Jihad militant group in the Gaza Strip as a response to mortar shelling. Israeli military, however, declined to comment on the report.

Shortly after announcing the operation, the Israeli military said that it intercepted more projectiles fired from Gaza Strip.

The IDF also destroyed a “terror tunnel” near Kerem Shalom border crossing. The tunnel extended inside Israeli and Egyptian territory and was used “for transporting weapons to the territory of Egypt,” the army said.

i hope the Israeli's can keep the casualty count down and focus on eliminating weapons caches and other militant infrastructure,
because this would result in less massive protests worldwide, and that's important in the short term, but especially also in the mid- to long-term.

but ultimately, these Israeli soldiers are walking into very hostile territory to do this weapons-cleanup work,
and i'm not the one to tie their hands and feet with a short leash on the wall of morality.

i do want to strongly advocate against the use of what the Israelis have dubbed 'asymmetrical force', like the use of horrible phosphor bombs. again, because this would erode the support in the international community for Israel's right to defend itself.
Use the minimal force principle whenever possible please. teach your soldiers to take captives when they can, and to remain professional (meaning not racist) in their conduct towards Palestinians they have to deal with. With your draft policy, that means you regain a firmer grip on the moral highground by the thinking of your entire population, within a few decades.
Don't think of yourselves as superior please, Israelis, that's one of your problems that is costing you non-Jewish friends.
think of yourselves as different and stronger and perhaps wiser, than your Arab foes.

You might want to seriously consider changing your handle from "peacefan" to "Zionist_Shill" or "Zionazi_Stooge" or perhaps even better yet might I suggest:"HasbaraFan",as any of these would far more accurately reflect the utterly nauseating sentiments expressed in your above posts.

whatever. all i'm trying to do is give you Arab nit-wits a way out of war and into peace and prosperity.

i back whomever i think is right at some point along the line, i am independent,
much unlike you and those who think like you, @Sineva. you're completely stuck in the hatred you've been taught. and worse : you probably teach it to the kids around you.
