This war is like the battle of mariupol on a bigger more urban scale, with close quarter warfare and small scale infantry clashes.
Unlike the russians however the idf can't just use overwhelming force to dislodge hamas.
Ironically this type of "forcing the enemy to fight in urban areas full of civilians" is idf doctrine 101.
