I just read a comment on a Bangladesh forum that said that the East Bengal regiment won more gallantry awards in the 1965 war as compared to any other regiment of the Pakistan Army.

Can anyone shed light on this pls with the figures.

What you heard is true. 17 gallantry award in 1965 war to 1 East Bengal for defending somewhere near Lahore.
