Recent photographs and information have come to light detailing the possible adoption of the Heckler & Koch G28 by Turkish special operations groups. Specifically the Turkish Combat Search & Rescue (Muharebe Arama Kurtarma) component of the Turkish Air Force has received the rifles possibly as early as 2014. From what we understand the CSAR component might have got them from trials done on the G28 by Army commandos but due to the political situation between Turkey and Germany over the refugee crisis (among others), the supply might have fallen through. The image above is actually from some of those trials.

From the photographs that have surfaced online, it appears that the rifles have come complete with their full product package of the standard configuration with the NATO STANG 4694 rail system (essentially a MIL STD Picatinny M1913 rail) mounted with a Schmidt & Bender 3-20×50 PMII, with an Aimpoint Micro T1 as a close range option, however it appears to lack the Rheinmetall Soldier Electronics LLM-225 laser aiming module that H&K offers as standard on the product page.

Among other recent small arms in use by the Turkish CSAR is the H&K 416A5 in 5.56x45mm NATO. Ironically, in Turkey’s quest to standardize a locally made version of H&K rifles, the special operations components aren’t buying in entirely and are simply opting for the original rifles from Germany themselves.

You do understand that TSK is using German weapons because they're better or more reliable right ?

.
SOF has quite wide spectrum of weapons, there are German ones as well but we are not depend on them.

Don't forget the Turkish MPT-76 marksman version isn't ready yet. Plus the quality is probably not going to be as good as HK originals.

We should produce our own
. I'm fed up with the Germans, let them rot
@Jackal131 (our member from the military pointed out the problems with our own.)

Yes. Technically speaking, the version being produced at the moment is the MPT76 Mk.II. But officially it is still just called MPT76 as they dont like to acknowledge the embarrassment that they produced initially.

The initial version, failed all military and police trials / tenders. It was defeated by the HK417 in the POH trials and the HK416 / G28 / M110 in military trials. And that is why we still see HK417 being delivered to police and G28 being delivered to military even to this day, when MPT76 is; according to MKEK; "ready for combat".

The barrel life alone on the original model was actually atrocious and completely unacceptable. After the military and POH absolutely shat on what MKEK produced internally by itself, the decision was made that MKEK be assisted by more capable partners.

It seems that the new variant has far better performance than the original but to what extent is unknown. It should at least match the HK417 but isn't expected to be anywhere near the quality of the FN SCAR-H.

If it comes close to HK417 in quality it will be a great achievement for our industry as that is a high standard. I am very hopeful now that MKEK is not left unsupervised to produce the weapon.

If you begin to use your own guns then they will develop to be better or close enough to fulfill our needs Specially if you demand good quality

Eg some day we will have an replacement for this and who knows what could happen if we Are in urgent need at war I don't think germany would supply us
