Exactly whats the point in adding china to SAARC then it will be no longer be SAARC. It will be a asian forum.

To make SAARC more relevant we need to get rid of joyriders and saboteurs like Pakistan. Remove Pakistan and add Myanmar it will make more sense.

Can any one let us know how Pakistan with only borders to Afghanistan & India is given importance in SAARC? It has no tight economic or territorial relationship with other countries .

I suppose if we convince our neighbors to "want" USA or Brazil in SAARC that would be acceptable too then right?

I mean why have the title "South Asian.............", lets make it a free for all.

The point of SAARC is to be a grouping of countries bound by geography which face similar issues in terms of development that can rely on each other to improve their condition. China in my mind is already a near developed country. It doesn't fit the model.
But again, concessions can always be made, just NOT at the cost of India. PERIOD!

SAARC is a lost cause due to India, it's better if we focus more on OBOR connectivity in the South Asian region.

Agree. China could start an OBOR group for South Asia. I'll be surprise if India would join. This group would in effect replace SAARC

I'm sure Indians would love the USA to be a part of SAARC, however none of their territory exists in South Asia.

A large part of China on the other hand is geographically a part of South Asia, i.e. the Tibetan plateau.

SAAR is a lost cause due poor state of India economy and geopolitical can’t gather any cloud to further advance the regional policy. All India neighbor fully aware India doesn’t have the economy or military power to transform SAAR to be a powerhouse in global affair.
