LOS ANGELES, April 17 (Xinhua) - As the November mid term election draws near, attacks between liberals and conservatives have become fiercer, and this time it is more racial.

Uncle Sam is a term used by Americans to refer to the Government of the United States. Americans usually said they are paying tax to Uncle Sam. In the world, Uncle Sam refers to United States or Americans. But now some black conservatives in the U.S. have been called Uncle Tom

The latest evidence of such racial attacks is that an organization called Staying True to America's National Destiny ( STAND) has been formed to solicit signatures to set up a Hall of Shame to list what they called as "far left" members from the U.S. Congress in the hall.

A mass e-mail message sent to many Americans reads: "Our country is being led down a road of leftist extremism: healthcare takeover, student loans takeover, auto industry takeover, finance industry takeover, environmental radicalism, homosexual social experiments with the military, recognizing and encouraging the radical atheist agenda, treating Israel like an enemy and appeasing our real enemies. This is an agenda so radical that it seems like a nightmare. Peacefully, democratically, let us fight the Obama agenda with our last breath if that's what it takes."

"We are witnessing the cult of Obama in full swing. Divide the country by race and class - black against white and rich against poor. Then run the radical policies right through the middle of it all," says the message.

The message says the crisis in black communities has been created by "the very liberals for which blacks continue to vote."

According to the message, black unemployment will soon reach 17 percent, the highest in over one-quarter century. Eighty percent of black children are born out of wedlock. Nearly forty percent of all abortions are performed on black women.

Also, over one third of black children in the U.S. live in poverty, according to the National Center for Children in Poverty.

One reporter from the Associated Press wrote in a story: "They' ve been called Oreos, traitors and Uncle Toms, and are used to having to defend their values. Now black conservatives are really taking heat for their involvement in the mostly white Tea Party movement and for having the audacity to oppose the policies of the nation's first black president."

One black conservative said: "I've been told I hate myself. I' ve been called an Uncle Tom. I've been told I'm a spook at the door."

Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steels has been called an Uncle Tom.

Opponents said Michael Steele pretended to be outraged by Tea Party protestors who shouted the n-word and spit at three black Congressmen as they entered the U.S. House of Representatives to vote on healthcare reform.

Opponents said Steele uttered a limp denunciation of the epithet-screaming, saliva-hurling Tea Partiers and claimed that they were part of some tiny, lunatic fringe.

On "Meet the Press" Steele downplayed the disgraceful behavior of the Tea Party members by saying: "What you had out there yesterday were a handful of people who just got stupid and said some very ignorant things ...As (House Minority) Leader Boehner said, that's reprehensible. We don't support that."

However, supporters of the health care reform legislation have openly criticized the Tea Party protesters. Eric Johnson wrote to the editor of Manteca Bulletin he would like to thank the Democrats in both houses for passing health care reform.

"I am amazed at how the rich that have been sticking it to the working class can advertise and have the average Joe Blow believe that by having health care we are losing our rights. Common sense is not too common in America as shown by the Tea Party movement. Just like Hitler, let an idiot stand on a box and talk and they will get a following," Johnson wrote.

"I see people every day with no job and health insurance or money and talk about how this country is being taken over by people that are destroying the American Dream. Don't they realize the dream was taken away over the last eight years?" asked Johnson.

But former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich called U.S. President Barack Obama "the most radical president in American history" in a speech last week to Southern conservatives in New Orleans .

Gingrich accused Obama for leading what he called "a secular socialist movement that is quite serious about its goals, and that represents essentially a European socialism, and is prepared to move forward without much regard to the American people."
