THE INDIAN RAID

After the 65 War, Indian Air Chief, Air Chief Marshal Arjun Singh came to visit Pakistan at the invitation of Air Marshal Nur Khan, C-in-C PAF. His 10-member delegation included his new ADC Flt Lt Kiriappa, (son of Gen Kiriappa) who had been shot down by the PAF during the war and repatriated to India only a short while ago. While both the Chiefs chatted in the Officers’ Mess lawns at Lahore, enjoying the December sunshine, I talked with my counterpart Kiriappa and gave final touches to the buffet lunch arrangements. Keeping in view the sensibilities of Hindu and Sikh religions regarding their abstinence from meat and smoke, we had arranged all available vegetables for them on one side of the table. For ourselves all kind of meat had been laid out towards the other side of the table. The cigarettes were placed on the same side, also for us. Then we moved in for lunch and the Indian Air Force launched their surprise raid. They ate all our meat with relish and smoked all our cigarettes, with style. We had to eat their vegetables and smoke our own cigarettes.

Thanks. I am just doing what you might call "drive by". So you won't see me much until at least late summer. I can't say more about my project. Down the road I might PM you it. We are getting government funding and this is UK your talking about. I have used some choice language on PDF in particular for our Ganga neighbours. I would be pretty embarrased (even risk funding) if that was 'outed' to my person.

What I can tell you is that it is my way of making a small differance in how we Pakistani's are seen in UK.

That is understandable, both the drive by as well as you choosing to stay mute about that project for now. Do let me know if you think i can be of any assistance in any possible way. As long as it involves Pakistan and Pakistanis and their image, i am on-board.

It does. Too many times we talk and complain about our image. I got tired of doing that. It's on us to do it. Nobody else is going to do it for us.

That is what i have been trying to do for some years now though on a VERY VERY small scale since i am only going to different places as a visitor for two three weeks max but still i try to do the best i can.
