What's new

From Su-1 to Su-57. Sukhoi keeps Russia air power on par with the best.

.
during the cold war MiGs were the symbol of Soviet air power

.
with less budget available for defense russia should focus on limited no of jets of similar type but with good quality as much flankers like su30,su27,su34 and su35 all have almost similar capabilities so they should develop only single model with all capabilities of jets closely resembling each other and instead of giving different names to same type of jet and use funds for different type of more capable jet which is totally different and not resembles to jet types already existing in inventory

.
Before Flankers came into Scene. It was Mig Fighters and Tupolev Bombers All around. Su27 changed the game all around.
Mig17 Mig19 Mig21 Mig23 Mig25 were the lime light Fighters of Cold War
Cant think about any other notable Sukhoi Jet from that era other then Su24 Fencer and Su25

.
With the cancellation of the Su-57, Russia is no longer the aviation power as during the days of the Cold War. Deal with it.

Yeah...Am sure you speak from extensive personal experience in military aviation, and that Putin himself is monitoring PDF and searches for your every post on how to raise the Russian Air Force.

Russia is now essentially a 2D power. Sure, Russia can sell fighters but the world now realizes the best of Russia is at best second rate compares to what US airpower is today. Airpower is what you can project at the practical level, not what you can write about from the labs. Regarding military aviation, Russia is done.

Nope. MiG-29 is F-18 size. Su-27 is F-15 size. Su-27 is backbone of Russia air power.

Su-7 was better than MiG-21 but I think a tad more expensive than MiG-21. It's bigger and has more powerful engine than MiG-21.

My point was that MiGs were the mainstay of the Soviet bloc during the cold war. Right now it is the Sukhois
Russia is falling behind in aviation technology

you are reading the story from wrong side. they used a platform like su-27 and maded different classes of fighter jets:
su-34 a dedicated striker bomber
su-30 a multi role
su-35 an air superiority fighter
comparing these planes with each other is not logical because they just look like su-27 just like F-15E looks like F-15C.
