Actually, I think the brothers who are commenting from overseas have forgotten the mindset and beliefs of Bangladeshis.
Skin color isn't much of an issue in BD, in BD you'll see the lightest/fairest woman marrying the darkest man with the biggest gut, but that man will be affluent and educated < which is what really matters.
Secondly skin color has never been the deciding factor as we look towards something called "Gotonn", roughly translated to a persons facial features are more of a concern than skin color.
BD has been relatively unscathed by the skin color epidemic although many peoples mindset still needs to change.

Since people are discussing skin tones on a thread about frigates, allow me to contribute a little in good spirit.
There are 4 different skin tones from south asian point of view and I have seen people mistaking alot. Which is fine because people have their own definitions. So do I.
4 skin tones:
- Fair
- Light
- Average
- Below average(start of dark)
Nothing is wrong with any skin tone.
Fair skin tone example: Imran Khan
Light skin tone example: Yusuf Raza Gilani
Average/medium skin tone eample: Pervez Musharraf
Below average skin tone example: Altaf Hussain
