Report: Israel no longer
some body with credible knowledge explain as far i understand pakistan F16 are useless against US and NATO planes as all of them have access to the software if turkey build it know Pakistan ka Allah hi hafiz :hitwall:

If you are the type that likes to think that gambling with the security of Pakistan is interesting and exciting, then you should keep in mind the kinds of notions that come along with US equipment - sober, responsible Pakistani and international readers will, no doubt, take notice.

Every news regarding F-16 is like "WE ARE SCREWED UP" ::hitwall:
Sharam to magar Ati nahin ..... chlay hain 18 or lenay or istemal shuda bhe le lain ge koi masla nahin hain. Gulam hain aap ke Sarkar

Lets get real - Even if our F16s can detect NATO Fighter Jets they are pretty much useless because US always use superior weapon against an enemy (i.e If god forbid we go to war with USA then US won't use F16's they will prolly use F22's which will take out F16's as practice drones)..As long as these F16's can detect Indian Fighters as FOE it's all good.We should not even be thinking about having a war with USA.

Do we really need another thread to discuss this?

Yes, there as we know are only actualy 7 stories in the world thus there are actually only 7 threads that can be created any illusion that there are more than 7 is only because of creative writing in the title.

The seven are
1. 'Tragedy'. Hero with a fatal flaw meets tragic end. Macbeth or threads about war with India

2. 'Comedy'. Not necessary laugh-out-loud, or treads about war with the US.

3. 'Overcoming the Monster'. As in Frankenstein or 'Jaws'or threads about the CIA

4. 'Voyage and Return'. Booker argues that stories as diverse as Alice in Wonderland and H G Wells' The Time Machine and threads written by people in the UK and Canada about how much better it is in Karachi.

5. 'Quest'. Whether the quest is for a holy grail, a whale, or a kidnapped child it is the plot that links a lot of the most popular fiction treads about the Muslim ummah.

6. 'Rags to Riches'. The riches in question can be literal or metaphoric. Threads about if the US would stop giving Pakistan billions everyone would be rich.

7. 'Rebirth'. The 'rebirth' plot - where a central character suddenly finds a new reason for living - I.Khan political threads

Vassnti u seem to have developed or might already have and never shown, a curious sense of humour for sure. All i can say is the cliched term "You hit the nail on head there" and "I saw what u did there".

Report: Israel no longer

Turkey's Military Electronics Industry (ASELSAN) has produced a new identification friend or foe (IFF) system for Turkish jet fighters, warships and submarines and the new software, contrary to the older, US-made version, does not automatically identify Israeli planes and ships as friends, a news report said on Tuesday.

The new IFF has already been installed in Turkish F-16s and is expected to be installed in all Navy ships and submarines, the report, published in Turkish daily Star, said. It will be fully operational when it is installed in all military planes, warships and submarines.

The F-16 jet fighters, purchased from the US, came with pre-installed IFF software that automatically identifies Israeli fighters and warships as friends, disabling Turkish F-16s from targeting Israeli planes or ships. ASELSAN-made IFF will allow Turkish military commanders to identify friends and foes on the basis of national considerations.

Turkey was unable to make modifications to the friend or foe identification codes in US-made F-16s, while Israel was given a different version of the software allowing Israeli authorities to make modifications. Israel was also authorized to view the version given to Turkey, according to Star.

The report comes amid a severe crisis in ties with former ally Israel. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdo?an set the stage for a possible naval confrontation with Israel in the Eastern Mediterranean, saying last week that Turkish military ships will escort civilian ships carrying aid to Gaza, under an Israeli blockade since 2007.

A news report on Monday said three frigates were to be sent to the Eastern Mediterranean to protect aid ships from a possible interception by Israeli warships. The frigates, according to the report, will get as close as 100 meter to any Israeli military ship if those ships are outside of Israeli territorial waters.

Star also suggested that the new IFF system could be linked to a series of suspicious suicides in ASELSAN. Three ASELSAN engineers committed suicide in 2006 and 2007, but the media speculated that the engineers might have been murdered given the families' testimonies that the suicides seem to come out of the blue with no warning signs. The report added that all three engineers had worked on the new IFF system to be used for F-16 fighters.

Time to think Turkey then??

Turkey has woken up and with a decent tech base, they have got going...

Enemies are not chosen at will ... circumstances made two people fight.
This is what Pakistani nation thinks and now we are a kind of slaves of USA.

If this IFF software will not allow F-16's to shoot other F-16s, explain this :

"One F-16 was lost in these battles during an encounter between two F-16s and six Afghan Air Force aircraft on 29 April 1987, stated by the PAF to have been an fratricide because it was hit by an AIM-9 Sidewinder fired from amother F-16. The pilot, Flight Lieutenant Shahid Sikandar Khan, ejected safely."

In short, I am very sceptical that an IFF cannot be over ridden.
