They are not going to help Ukraine. But Russian actions in Ukraine had made many Eastern European countries rather nervous - especially Poland, which has a history of being violently violated by Russia. So Rafale deployment is basically a political statement, to Poland but also to Russia, so that Russia doesn't get ideas.

Well, we Pakistanis have a view about these meteor missiles that they are only good for hitting ravens and trees.

The American and french strategy is brilliant when you think about it.. Send their most modern plane to poland, To make some nice air-refueling videos.

-pilot gets training time
-air refuelers get training time
-western and polish media will jizz their pants in excitement (for reasons thats beyond my comprehension)
- and their "free" media will go on a ferocious media propaganda campaign about how these 2 french planes have shaken putin to the core, how its a show of western strength, unity bla bla bla -cringe- bla bla

Read it again and this time slowly, it says two pair of Rafale. We all know it takes time to get the pilot trained, how come French Pilots will be flying it. Do you think it is only Putin who can bark all day long against other countries supplying weapons to Ukraine ? Some thing happen for the first time just like Ukraine has started attacking Donetsk (Russian Controlled area) since the start of war.

interesting loadout - how many (max) meteors can the rafale support and guide/use etc ? is it 2 or more ?

There's a possible configuration for the Rafale to carry up to 4 meteor.
