The French Gendarmerie has purchased four NX110 micro-unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and ground stations from Novadem.
The armed forces branch will also receive mobile receiving antennas to allow other (non-operating) users to view images in real time.
The NX110 is a 2 kg quadcopter with a range of 1 km and 20 minutes of endurance. It is being tested by the French Army and will be the first UAV in service with the Gendarmerie. First deliveries are scheduled for early 2016. The Gendarmerie could order up to 20 systems in the months to come.
