Freedom of civil society: 9 Embassies in Dhaka support British High Commissioner

Why do you have to find NATO images in every nook and corner? The point is BD lacks democracy and it is good that other countries except India are pressing BD to arrange a fair election in less than two years. When other countries say it, you find NATO there.

I find NATO in every nook and cranny of crookery because its component nations, especially the Anglo political system of Britain, whose model derives to those nations and to others like India, Pakistan and Bangladesh is not democracy at all but a system comprising of demagoguery, irrationality plutocracy and war mongering. NATO protects such wrong systems with violence. A system of five-yearly elections where multiple political parties compete for the votes of the disconnected and disinterested voters is not democracy but something opposite. Please read this post of mine to understand more and where true democracy was first implemented in the modern world and then read that thread from the start.

Strong and dynamic civil society is fundamental to freedom of speech and effective democracy, said Robert Chatterton Dixon, British High Commissioner in Dhaka on Tuesday: In that case, they should be able to work independently. He wrote this from his official account on social media Twitter.

Ambassadors of various countries stationed in Dhaka and embassies of several countries have supported the statement of the British High Commissioner. Embassies and ambassadors of at least nine countries have spoken out. The post was retweeted by the US Embassy in Dhaka, the Australian High Commission, Japanese Ambassador Ito Naoki, Swiss Ambassador Nathali Chuard and Norwegian Ambassador Aspen Richter Wendsen.

Lily Nichols, Canada's High Commissioner to Dhaka, shared the post: The voice of an independent and diverse civil society has always been part of Canada's core principles of democracy, innovation and progress. These are among the values we share with Bangladesh.

Alex Bergberg von Linde, Sweden's ambassador to Bangladesh, wrote in support of the British High Commissioner: The central pillar of any democratic society is a vibrant and strong civil society.

The Ambassador of the Netherlands in Dhaka, Ann van Leeuwen, wrote: The central and central role of civic organizations for transparency and proper ‘check and balance’ in any country.
That's exactly what the Danish ambassador, Winnie the Pooh, wrote. A vibrant and strong civil society is the key to hearing the voices of the weak.

Ignore this British idiot!

Hypocrites have been putting in place all kinds of obstacles to prevent poor people from voting!

It’s a disgrace!

Last U.K. election was a shambles.

British prime minister kisses the genocidal modi then lectures the wimpish BD government!!!

No wonder philosophers and thinkers said that Idle minds are the devil's workshop.

What happened to our Foreign Minister Alga Momen? Why he is not threatening to expel these Ambassadors from Bangladesh?

His cajones are big, but not that big like Erdogan's. Hasina literally has no cajones to speak of. She kept Momen around as a sacrificial goat spokesperson FM, the moment he says something stupid, his goose is cooked!!

Then Hasina can wiggle out of it, saying she got rid of the problem.

Catalystic, these Western governments are not so much talking about promoting LGBTQXXX etc but dearly wanting the mullahs to come to power through the BNP. All those sanctions against the Rapid Action Battalion officers were in this direction. NATO doesn't like any Muslim-majority society to be progressive and NATO is rankled by the Socialist-style official name of Bangaldesh - People's Republic of Bangladesh.

I don't know what the British High Commissioner said which invoked the "democracy-loving" chants of other Western government officials but these are the steps towards bringing a Spring Revolution in BD like in Libya, Syria and Venezuela. A regime change is what the Western governments want in Bangladesh and then for the mullahs to be in power.

In the coming months and few years it is certain that many progressive Indian Muslims and non-Muslims will want to migrate to BD so please people of BD keep your country out of the filthy hands of mullahs and their NATO controllers.

Agreed 100%, If you check all the boxes, boxes that they force onto you mind you, they can't control you..

How do they deal with this issue ?

They simply make you uncheck the boxes by way of regime change and then we all know what happens..

Iraq, Libya & Syria to name a few

They don't care about human rights or democracy, they just want to control you and If that means banging on about values they don't actually respect than so be it..

They have the luxury of being hypocrite because this world was never an equal playing field to begin with.

I couldn't have said it better myself!

Bravo!

Anyone who still believes that the west cares about human rights and democracy is utterly naive. Stupid even.

Look how USA and U.K. completely changed their stance on Modi.

It’s proven beyond doubt that MBS murdered Kashoggi. Has the USA sanctioned him even?

I am a bit of philosopher and thinker myself, ha ha.

Indeed. Our Pragati Purush Narendra bhai, leader of Vishwaguru India, had been debarred from visiting USA for ten years for his role in the Gujarat pogrom of 2002 but now he is all welcome. What has his national government since 2014 been doing except enabling lynchings, riots, attacks on females, oppression of progressives including journalists, continuance of the the state war against the Communist Naxal guerrillas, maintenance of age-old discrimination and oppression of Shudras and Dalits, regular genocide talk in various parts of the country, the extreme Capitalism of India, the non-democracy here, attacks on opposition leaders, letting loose bulldozers on houses, shops and even commercial pushcarts of those he doesn't like especially innocent Muslims etc. Below is a recent thread of mine :

Yet he himself goes :
