Freedom Fighter Udham Singh took revenge today in history

So you vote for the CONgress because their leadership in punjab is controlled by "sikhs" ? :cheesy:

So if the Punjab congress was headed by a Hindu, you would not support them ?
Stating how the masses think not how I personally vote. Please get rid rid of the emojis mate, they are so annoying, there are other ways to get your point across.

.
I agree most of them don't care as the impacted ones were from Delhi not Punjab. IMO, most of us have innate hatred for Indira Gandhi that includes yours truly not Congress/BJP/RSS. Media sensationalise every negative and most people make their opinion based on these stories or on their own conscious/sub-consciousness bias. Have lived in Canada and know how things work over their, majority of people used the oppression as a tool to get political asylum and very few were genuine ones.
Punjab is not only Sikh almost 45% population is Hindu and they either vote Congress or BJP.

That's what I thought so as well and I don't really mind that they elect Congress.

One thing that gets me is the Sikhs in Canada, UK and US seems to have shifted the blame from Congress to BJP very subtly.
That shows me that these namak harams sitting in these nations are traitors not only to India but also to SIkh community itself because they are giving a free pass to actual perpetrators of the genocide, which is the Congress.

Don't be a self appointed spokesperson for the "masses" just so that you can add weight to your argument.

You are just one person, so stick to your point of view. Do not speak for "sikhs". The only thing you represent is YOURSELF. So when you can get rid of your illusion of grandeur , I will get rid of the emojis.

I was born and lived in Pubjab in a pind when militancy was at its peak and visit every 2 years as folks still live in our ancestral home, so I reckon I'm little qualified to speak on behalf of my Sikh brethren. I had people in both camps, my chacha was in police and at the same time extended family members/friends were in other side of fence. Our neighbours and even I until today surprised that we were not targeted by militants as lots of police families were targeted in those dark days. Answer my question, why all (two in Punjab's case) political parties nominate Hindu person in Hindu majority area, a Sikh in Sikh majority area and Muslim in Muslim majority area aka Malerkota in Punjab? This is open forum mate, we all give out our opinions including you & I, nothing less or nothing more..

It would have been equally funny if Udham singh was around to see what happened before 1984 when sikhs were killing Hindus in punjab is a blatant display of sheer bigotry and religious intolerance.
So since you speak for the Sikhs "mate", let me remind you that during the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, the Company Sergeant Major was a Sikh
So was the crew of the armoured car brought in to block the passage way and not let victims escape. Have you even bothered to find out their names ?
Makes me wonder Sikh culpability for the Jallianwala bagh massacre.
Also the fact that punjab voted the CONgress back into power in Punjab only confirms my doubts about Sikh's culpability for the violence in punjab and the subsequent killing and then the subsequent riots.
I don't know that Sikh's fired on gathering during Jallianwala Bagh massacre, if you say so then I accept it on face value. Sikhs are as good or as flawed as anyone else. Yes, I agree, some Hindus were targeted by militants but those were isolated incidents not mass killings like in 1984. That said, two wrongs will never make it right.
Yep those Sikhs involved in Jallianwala Bagh massacre were as culpable as their commanding officers, however, I don't know the full story, my understanding is, there were white soldiers standing behind those Sikh soldiers who opened fire and if they didn't fire, they would have been shot, not sure though, I may be wrong.
Hindus killed Sikhs and Sikhs killed Hindus, but 1984 is different case as government was involved in those killings.

.
The only thing that get's me is the duplicity of few NRI Sikhs.

They know who is responsible for 84. They know the root cause YET, their target for blame is RSS and BJP, which to me is a shocking display of total lack of values.
They come across as sold out morons who would sell their mothers for few dollars.

The answer to your question is pretty straightforward. It shows the deep religious divide in punjab.

Now answer me this,

Why are there "minority" Reservations for Sikhs in Sikh majority Punjab ? :coffee: ....... while no reservations exist for Hindus who are in minority ?

I agreed with you that both sides have blood on their hands, don't know what you are trying to prove here. Even though loss of single life is regrettable, there are lots of instances in your list, where it does state that especially Hindus were killed. It is 9 year period, and numbers would be still lower than what happened to Sikhs in 3 days after the Indira Gandhi slaying. Just giving a perspective, as I said, even a single loss of life is regrettable.
Replying to highlighted section, there is no reservation on the basis of religion in Punjab, it is on the basis of caste (SC/ST) and which includes Hindus also. Our Chamar brothers comes to my mind and they are almost 99% Hindu. I think you lied with religion based reservation angle, however, if you can prove with any source, I'm happy to admit my mistake.

Just to mention the ground reality, lots of people used militancy to settle personal scores, and KPS Gill also used some very questionable tactics to quell militancy. My real Chacha was not promoted as he has conscience and some of his junior colleagues were promoted to rank of DSP when he was Inspector, you can read between the lines without me saying anymore.

On a side note, it looks like you copied list from somewhere and just to be fair, you should acknowledge by listing the source of that information also even though you have collated that information.

Those are the partial list of hindus killed in punjab and the sikh govt. stood by while that massecar took place. This does not even shown the number of Hindus who ran away and became refugees.

The Sikhs were killed in a Riot. That too after IG was killed by her own sikh bodyguard. Who is now called a "saint" in sikh gurudwara.

Here is a Sikh Chamar.

maxresdefault.jpg

LOL at your for claiming only Hindus are chamars  As a matter of fact, 32% of Punjab are Dalits. A vaste majority of them Sikhs. It's one of the states with the largest number of Dalits.

Finally, Here is proof of what you conveniently choose not to see,
