It's amusing to have Pakistanis troll whenever India does something that they cannot.
Everything a Health Insurance covers. There is something seriously wrong here.
You cannot cover 1.2billion people with 11 billion USD per year, you need way more than that. Plus, they haven't told us what services would be included, quality of care, etc.

Currently this is available to Below Poverty Line households. They pay Rs. 30 each year and get a cover of Rs. 30000.Then it's going to be a hell lot more expensive than 11 billion usd per year.
Since his dog girlfriend (yes, the four-footed) dumped him, he intentionally gets sick so as to get treated by one of those nurses and escape the breakup hangover. The worst part is he's too ugly for them night angels.@IND_PAK you seem pissed- are you one of those ugly nurses?- -
Rather we should spend this money to improve and create more infrastructure. Even a person has this insurance , how he will get treated if there are no hospitals and clinics ?

$11 Billion per year FOR FOUR YEARS to cover entire 1.2 billion population in four year time from 2015-19. Tertiary care services would be provided through an insurance-based model and the government will offer more than 50 drugs free to all its citizens. Along with the drugs, about 12-15 diagnostic treatments will be offered in the package. India's has the world's third largest pharmaceutical industry and is the leading generic drug producer across the globe - medicines and drugs aren't any problem and won't cost much as they are already readily available in India.
The cost excludes the infrastructure expansion bill as it will upgraded under existing welfare programmes - its implementation will not be the monopoly of the government but the private sector will be actively involved in the same. It is partially inspired by US President Barack Obama's grand insurance-for-all project which is popularly known as "Obamacare".
