Free Health Insurance For All! India's $26 Billion Universal Health Plan to be Largest in the World!

.
There is something seriously wrong here.

You cannot cover 1.2billion people with 11 billion USD per year, you need way more than that. Plus, they haven't told us what services would be included, quality of care, etc.

It's amusing to have Pakistanis troll whenever India does something that they cannot.:pakistan:

Read my post, there is something seriously missing in there. Please tell me what type of care would this 'health care' offer? Go read up on the social health systems of the world. It is simply not possible to cover 1.2 billion people in that little amount of money. Primary or secondary care are both very expensive.

So to me it seems like a hogwash.

Lastly, doesn't India have free basic health care already in effect? Because Pakistan does, and each year millions get absolutely free healthcare at government hospitals. The quality is not good but hey, it's free. (that includes prescriptions to surgeries.)

Everything a Health Insurance covers.

@IND_PAK you seem pissed- are you one of those ugly nurses?--
Since his dog girlfriend (yes, the four-footed) dumped him, he intentionally gets sick so as to get treated by one of those nurses and escape the breakup hangover. The worst part is he's too ugly for them night angels.

Rather we should spend this money to improve and create more infrastructure. Even a person has this insurance , how he will get treated if there are no hospitals and clinics ?

If the patient has money to spend on health, hospitals and clinic will magically spring up near him. Its called business.

$11 Billion per year FOR FOUR YEARS to cover entire 1.2 billion population in four year time from 2015-19. Tertiary care services would be provided through an insurance-based model and the government will offer more than 50 drugs free to all its citizens. Along with the drugs, about 12-15 diagnostic treatments will be offered in the package. India's has the world's third largest pharmaceutical industry and is the leading generic drug producer across the globe - medicines and drugs aren't any problem and won't cost much as they are already readily available in India.

The cost excludes the infrastructure expansion bill as it will upgraded under existing welfare programmes - its implementation will not be the monopoly of the government but the private sector will be actively involved in the same. It is partially inspired by US President Barack Obama's grand insurance-for-all project which is popularly known as "Obamacare".

Stop blaming those characters of the RAW drama on pak, for their baniya looks are a huge giveaway of who they are.

See troll..if you cannot argue it is better keep quite. this was about india's $26 billion free health care plan. i known that pak is the only country that could even not eliminate polio, i know that you are jealous of india's achievement. i know that you cursing nawaz because he cannot be modi, but appreciating other goes in a long way in learning from other...grow some brains.

I dont think India can afford this right now. Our deficit is already precariously high.

I understand what you are saying, but is it just providing insurance cover to all and then making sure it is accepted at all places, public and private, or it includes the up gradation of infrastructure as well ( which is what really matters?) Some costs are expensive, for example, CT scans, MRIs, Cancer treatments, etc

In any case 11 billion is too low of a number to fund costs for 1.2 billion people. Remember, even you don't have to pay, someone has to. That someone is government, and government funds such places suing tax payers money.

Like in the USA they had long deliberations on how to fund the Obama care......tax the 1% more? Or in general tax everyone more, like France/UK etc.

Current Indian budget of 5 billion is too low.
