- Inked a $2.2 billion Mirage upgrade deal with Dassault
- Entered into an agreement with Thales to retrofit IFF / CIT equipment on the Jaguar fleet
- Speculated on yet further upgrades to the Mirage and Jaguar fleet with MBDA

STOP COMPLAINING! India did this india did that with the thunder deal! come on! France has not said NO or YES at the moment. lets just wait and see what comes out.

You all have proved not all pakistanis are deluded, Majority have brains to understand the basic fact that both adversaries can't hv a common technology provider. It will surly jeopardize the bigger investors security/defense apparatus if something like radar signature and configuration is known to the other ,who is not a major technology partner!

Not really. Given the state of Pakistan's finances, that 8 billion dollar deal was anyway suspect or atleast too much in the future.. And that would have played a good part in this hold up.

Imo these things are not related to JF 17 developments with France!

That IAF will upgrade Mirage 2000 sooner or later was clear even before PAF negotiated French weapons and techs, just like it's obvious that we might go for British stuff, for Jaguar upgrade (MBDA is not French, it's a consortium of UK, FRA, GER and ITA and the Jags MBDA upgrade most likely will be ASRAAM missiles).
Also uprading Russian fighters with French stuff is nothing new too, we do it for over a decade now with MKI, the new Mig 29K uses Thales Topsight HMS and French navigation systems.
PAF knew all these things before, so why these things should suddenly play a role?
On the other side all recent atricles said that the financial side of the deal wasn't clear from Pakistans and that France had worries about transfering their techs to China. So these reasons are way more obvious reasons, than IAF upgrading fighters.
I don't rule out that GoI tried to influence France on political stage, but we are by far not in the position to tell them what to do, nor will France obey that easy. They were one of the few countries that refused US pressure for decades, so why should they fall to our?

For IAF this is just their normal way of modernisation and customisation, nothing else!

pay for ur arms exports so that u can use them against us some other day...
