Waz, I'm going to add to this a personal observation over the years

I have noticed, not only does child marriage happen a lot in countries that tend to be 3rd world or poorer nations, BUT it happens overwhelmingly in the 'conservative' countries i.e. the more conservative the country, the more sex is taboo, the higher rate of child marraige, sexual attacks and overall sexual abuse of women.
