Well before the revolution we'd been a major buyer of Libyan oil, they need to get their economy back on track.

I have come to the conclusion you are obviously not the sharpest tool in the box. The British government froze EIGHT billion dollars and are asking Natos permission to give them ONE billion back. Now you dont need a mathematic degress to work out they are keeping SEVEN billion back. Are you able to comprehend this mr jamie or shall i type s l o w e r?
Who are they to decide to hold the 7 billion? I know how it works. Te held funds will be used if any British companies investing in Libya to build the country back up again. Cameron and his buddies are such scum. This is as close as you can get to international pirates. Its theft of a nations wealth. They say they are doing it for the commen man in Libya. Why resort to personal insults? The rebels are not yet in full control, the money will be released gradually. It will take time for things to be organised, if all the money was released now then it could be lost through corruption.

Some of the money may already had been used to pay for fighting Gaddafi.

This is quite ironical, using Gaddafi's own money to recruit and outfit fight against Gaddafi himself.
