Pétrole : l

Agreement shall have been signed with the Libyan rebels, who have received much support from France after the Civil War broke out in the spring.

Libération refers to a letter from the rebel National overgangsråd to the Emir of Qatar dated 3 April. It referred to an agreement to "allocate 35 percent of the crude oil to France in exchange for the country's total and permanent support for our advice."
- Logical

The French newspaper writes about the lucrative contract the same day as world leaders gather in Paris for a conference about Libya's future.

State and Government and other representatives from a total of around 50 countries attending the meeting, including Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg (Ap).

French Foreign Minister Alain Juppé said Thursday that he believes it is "logical" that France and other countries that have helped the transitional Council to power, taking part in the reconstruction of Libya.

- There is an announcement of the transition council, but I'm not aware of a formal agreement. We are not alone. Italy is also included, and the Americans. This operation in Libya at a significant cost. There is also an investment in the future, because a democratic Libya would contribute to stability, security and development in the region, says Juppé further, according to Reuters.

Moustapha Abdeljalil in Libya overgangsråd has recently announced that the countries which took a leading role, will be rewarded for their efforts.

- It seems fair and logical to me, says Juppé the radio station RTL.
Black Gold

Libya's oil reserves equivalent to 44 billion barrels of oil, according to Le Figaro. Until 2010 Libya produced 1.8 million barrels of oil a day. France was the second largest importer of oil from Libya after Italy. 15 percent of France's total oil imports from Libya.

29. August signed the Italian oil giant ENI, an agreement with the transitional Council to restore its oil production in Libya. It was also agreed that gas supplies through pipelines to the Mediterranean to Italy to start again.
Will free up funds

A main issue at the Paris meeting that starts today will be the release of Libyan funds frozen in foreign accounts. The transitional Council is now working hard to get liberated Gadafis frozen billion.

The UN sanctions committee has previously approved the U.S. and UK release $ 1.5 billion each. France followed suit Thursday morning and freed up 1.5 billion euros, writes Le Parisien.

Foreign Minister Juppé emphasizes the need to help the rebels now in the process of taking over power in the country:

- We must help the National Transition Council because the country lies in ruins, the humanitarian situation is difficult and there is a lack of water, electricity and fuel.
Rewarded for effort

If countries are to be rewarded for the efforts of Libya's release, it is likely that France and the UK, runs off with the biggest piece of cake. These countries took the initiative to the Decree of 1973 in the United Nations that allowed an armed action against Gadafis forces, writes Le Figaro.

Russia, China and Brazil can probably look far for oil contracts since the governments of these countries were against the war on Gadafi regime.

France has won the double game again, they showed how capable the Rafale jets are, shooting sitting ducks targets in Libya and could win orders from India and Brazil now, and now they get oil for it too.

Well done Sarkozy.

Don't be stupid, Gaddafi is more Berber than Arab. This attack had the backing of lots of Gulf Arab states.

Guys you can see this game clearly, there is noway that you can now sport nato for attacking libya, you can clearly see that this was the main reason to attack libya.

they did not attack them for the rights of people. nato actually killed hundreds of innocents with air strikes? are you going to get them democracy with bombing?

The Oil Is yours

Operation = O

Iraq.........= I

Liberation = L.

. . .
The USA and Nato allow the systematic multiple rape of an Islamic country again and the vultures take advantage and people like chogy etc come on here and cant understand why there is so much ant american sentiment? Get over yourselves! It really is disgraceful how France and the rest are bludgeoning before it even starts.
The British had reportedly frozen 8 billion dollars of Libya and today have asked Natos permission to let them have a billion back? You are the scum of the earth..

i assume you meant better not "berber" . but what you are forgetting that this is also supported by the majority of Libyans.

if nations dont like what we do, do something about it

Libya is a new country, they haven't experienced with the bully of West nations. Some mature countries realized and grow up after Iraq and Arab countries. I think, Pakistan know that they can't trust West at all.

A good example of Afghanistan.
