What's new

France deploys three M270 MLRS (LRU) in Mali !

French were the worst colonial exploiters .... Apart from Algerian genocide.. They literally raped Africa and robbed her of everything including culture... And the exploitation still continues...

I'm talking about the present bro. Their dealings are trade related and having been out there, I can tell you those states would be worse than what has happened in Iraq under ISIS.

.
After the arrical of French troops security has deteriorated throughout the area

LOLOLOLOLOL ROFLMAO

Yes because as we know, prior to us getting there, all was rosy in a picture perfect paradise
and security omnipresent up to the remotest oued
!!!
Where do you get your news from exactly?

Might be easier to listen to Waz, Tay.

They are in this state due to French in the first place.... Even in Mali... The French were exploiting Uranuim mines... Making the area radioactive wasteland... With radiation breaking the scales set by UN,. And as a result disease and death among the local Tuaregs... Which than revelled (against the French supported dictator and his oppressive policies.... The Islamist terrorists only took advantage of the situation...

The situation in France (terror threats) also are their own making.. With the institutionalised racism against their Muslim and black citizens ... A fact..

Yes we have seen the same things again and again(In afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia). Does anyone remember the crowd that demolished Saddams statue?Fact is that when foreign troops leave radicals will take over.

France Digs in Across Region as Mali Security Deteriorates

After the arrical of French troops security has deteriorated throughout the area

France isn't overthrowing the government of Mali :what:

this isn't Iraq or Libya.

it's the terrorists that want to create it's own country in Northern Mali

.
Is it really necesseray to have such heavy hardware to fight AQUIM terrorists?

Necessary, maybe not @bidonv but useful yes!
In those desert expanses in Tuareg land by your border, distances are impressive.
From Kidal to Aguelhok or Adeïbara, Aguelhok to Tessalit, Tessalit or Adeïbara to Boughessa,
it's always more than 70 km between main towns, always more than the reach of those MLRS-MLUs.

Add that there are few civilians living in that countryside and that the recon and targeting is based on drones
and you'll find a tactical validity to this deployment.

I understand your point of view from an Algerian forces angle though. There, it's the army model that's at play.
You use more men and we use more tech. Ir's almost a matter of preference then.

Have a great day, Tay.

I mean such weapons may be used to scare a conventional army, besiege a rebel town............but not highly mobile purposely disbanded small groups of two or three men...................

I suggest that you re-read the usual very informative post #3 of this thread by our excellent Penguin!

Under air surveillance, from 70 km away, a 1 km square can be saturated with various effects.
If your very much spotted groups don't clear the zone before the highly mobile rockets get there ...
they'll be highly dispersed indeed?

Alone the launcher does little, it's targeting that makes it useful! Very!

Good day to you, Tay.

See at 0:26 plus 10 secs

MLRS is precise enough that e.g. a few rounds (2-3) are used to take out e.g. a known sniper position. But can also swat an area
